  • Way to end a magic story

  • haha hey i got trick..... bam bam lol that was funny best ending ever

  • This movie is shameless!!!! It's like actually watching an animator steal money from producers. I'm going to assume they blew the budget on cocaine and whores and then threw this shit together at the last minute to avoid being sued.

  • Your mother used to show you that?

  • @MrShredder67

"Son, whenever your brother is giving you shit, don't waste any time on magic and spells. Just shoot him in the chest with a luger. That'll shut him the fuck up."

  • @LewisJabberwocky The movie is "Wizards" by Ralph Bakshi. It's awesome. See it.

  • fuck didn't see that coming 0_0

  • I haven't even seen the movie but that was pretty badass

  • How Harry Potter should have dealt with Voldemort.

  • Ferngully for adults!

  • This must be the only moment in media history that makes a Missed Moment of Awesomeness and a Crowning Moment of Awesomeness at the same FREAKING time.

  • *Blam* Oooh whatcha saaaaay?

  • This is how Harry Potter should have ended!!!

  • BEST MOVIE ENDING EVER.

  • Well played Avatar...

  • If any movie could use a remake it's this one. It had a great premise, nice imagery and symbolism and an original plot. What it lacked was decent characterization, good animation, good acting and overall enough consistency to make a classic.

  • @ProdigsProductions I'm not sure it would keep it's charm though. Although I admit, it would make a great film with some new technology.

  • The most epic anti-climatic ending ever made...

  • now that is THE Avatar :)

  • @MythicDude

You mean not in the Last Airbender show or James Cameron's movie?

  • @Johnlindsey289 the James Cameron film was what I had in mind when I posted it

  • @MythicDude

You are aware there is a Nicktoon called Avatar The Last Airbender right? i mean it's the same name as the wizard and Cameron's movie. Gotta admit Bakshi's movie predated Cameron's movie with the whole Sci-fi/fantasy movie themes about science vs. magic and eco-saving subplot, even the rotoscoping in Avatar reminds me of Bakshi's techniques only more advanced. Cameron is a fan of this movie afterall! you should see Nausicaa which is very similar to this movie and brillantly made.

  • Ending = Ironic

Isn't he opposing technology? XD Aw, but that's why he's so awesome. Thanks for the upload!

  • wizards!! I forgot about this movie

  • So what did we learn kids? As long as you have a gun, you're always the victor.

Seriously, that's the message this movie sends to me.

  • Actually it looks like a cave in so don't shoot a gun in a cave except as a last resort.

  • The movie is about Evil Technology vs Good Magic , so grow a brain and then watch it again .

  • @NeptunII , well it's TRUE. Having a gun does make you the victor far more often than being right or good.

The lesson to be learned is that guns can be used for good as well as evil, and cultivating a disdain for them won't save you when the bad guys have them all.

  • @JESSERL

"Good... Bad... I'm the guy with the gun."

Every day you get a chance to quote Bruce Campbell is a good day.

  • Awesome!

  • Love it!

  • this movie was riddled with plotholes, unanswered questions, very emotionless deaths (there was no build up or even a sad moment for the red robot's death) and then... you have the shortest magic fight in history. XD

all that build-up about how powerful these wizards were then he just pulls out a gun and shoots him dead. I'll give him an A for speeding things up. XD

  • I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. As a kid, I cut school to watch this movie on it's opening day - and LOVED it... much later I saw the vhs somewhere, bought it, and watched it again - and HATED it. But then, I gave it a second (or third?) look and started to appreciate it again. It wasn't LOVE, but it definitely wasn't HATE anymore. Heh heh... funny, I never considered myself schizophrenic, but hmm.... anyway, yeah, WIZARDS has it's flaws, but it'll sneak up on ya!

  • @DrZann

The point of that whole scene was that Black Wolf was more powerful, but Avatar was smarter. Avatar knew that if they had the big spell showdown like when they were young, he would've gotten his ass kicked. He sacrificed his professional pride as a wizard to save the world. Besides, wouldn't that have been predictable.

  • hahaha priceless, I laughed for a good 2 minutes when this happened. Wizards is an epic movie, definitely one of the greatest animated films of it's time. Ralph Bakshi is a genius and pioneer.

  • Well...isn't that a bit stupid, to call your brother a son of a bitch...^^

  • maybe his moter is a dog

  • @Luttmeyer Well he DID change his last name.

  • @Luttmeyer That why hes glad he changed his name ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @Luttmeyer If he was following Nazism, starting a war against my Luddite/hippy/magical elves who had done nothing to him, will likely cause genocide if not outright slaughter of us if we lose said war which is likely since we happen to be Luddites and hippies, and if he has studied offensive magic longer than I have and can thus throw better and bigger lighting bolts than me, is about to engage me in a duel then maybe it's okay to be hypocritical and shoot the shit out of that douchenozzle.

  • Every kids Fantasy film should end this way.

  • Partical ironic given its an anti-war film.

  • Agreed.

  • Haha, awesome.

  • OWNED.

  • Avatar: One of the greatest heroes ever. Except maybe Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name.

  • The Good guy wasnt a good guy at all D:

  • domination!

  • Crowning moment of Badass in animation history

  • This was a great movie

awesome way to end a wizard duel too

  • Best wizard duel ever.

  • RAPE.

  • What?

  • Dat was mean.

  • So unexpected!

  • Holy shit

  • PWNT

  • In the words of Andrew "Dice" Clay. "So many A--holes, so few bullets"

  • Shut your trap

  • That is your opinion, and i enjoyed this movie. if you payed attention to the beginning, it says the world was thrown into nuclear winter because of 5 terrorists.

  • Boy that looks like a German Luger. How ironic.

  • that was the whole point. he used a part of blackwolfs own war machine to kill him, instead of magic.

  • Boy that looks like a German Luger. How ironic.

    IT IS!

  • @DarthCybie Yeah, I figured he stole it from one of Blackwolf's nazi minions.

(Responding to three years old comments FTW!)

  • to jamus reaper, don't you think it would have been more effective to drop the bombs on a nearby island to demostrate the power of the atomic bombs rather than to annhilate thousands of innocent people?

I watched this movie on 2 8ths of closed golden caps, fucking crazy as hell

  • "don't you think it would have been more effective to drop the bombs on a nearby island to demostrate the power of the atomic bombs rather than to annhilate thousands of innocent people?"

Not nearly as effective. As evidence from the fact that we bombed a city first and they STILL didn't get the message.

  • I always did like that part. Although I guess that means Avatar was carrying that thing around during the whole movie? Wouldn't it have come in handy before?

  • lol, ultimate magic trick!

  • now you know where I got my name from. Great movie!

  • I agree that it shows that technology can be used for good, or to quickly end something that could proved disasterous in the near future. Avatar shot Black Wolf twice, which could quite possibly symbolize both atom bombs America dropped over Japan to end World War II and to avoid an amphibious assualt of Japan which would have been a catastrophe for both sides. If one cares to think of it that way.

  • After watching the entire movie and getting to know Avatar's character this isn't what you excpected him to do. . .

I'm not saying that's bad. Quite the opposite. I think it's the most epic ending EVER made in a animated movie.

  • Thats the cool thing about it, pulling out a gun and shooting Black Wolf is exactly the last thing you would expect of Avatar. Thats why Black Wolf is totally unprepared for it, he probably expected a weak magic spell or something.

  • wow... never saw that one coming

  • I never understood this ending. It's a story about magic versus technology, and avatar kills black with with a gun??? And not just any gun, with a leugar, the gun the nazi's used??? That never made sense to me

  • It's a trick. Just think about it.

  • I think it's supposed to be a kind of double entendre. Because Avatar says that the gun was a trick their mother showed him, and he says, "I'm glad you changed your last name you son of a bitch", the last part is meant to both degrade Black Wolf and imply that their mother was very cunning. (That theory also probably makes a lot of sense because Avatar says that he takes after his mother, and displays a lot of cunning in this scene.)

  • Wooow! Thanks soo much for the explination! it helped so much! ^_^

I saw this movie along time ago & recently & never fully understood it either..

  • I haven't seen the full movie, (I'm working on it!) so I guess I can't be absolutely certain...but I think that interpretation is at least somewhat correct. Verbal irony at its best. ;3

  • I think Bakshi was trying to say that technology can be used for good.

The Lugar P.08 was accepted by the German military in 1908, and replaced by the Walther P-38 before WWII started. But yes, Hollywood would have you think that all Nazis had this expensive, fussy firearm.

  • I'm not sure if my last message went through yet I saw this movie and I forgot is it a 70's or a 80's movie?

  • it came out in '77

  • I saw this movie is this a 70's or 80's movie?

  • 70's

  • It looks like a 70's movie.

  • Damn, Avatar, watch what you say about your mom.

(See what I did their? Son of a...forget it)

  • Ooooooh. Now i get it.

  • Funny how a film about the evils of war and violence has the non violent character shoot the bad guy. The point is the only way to deal with a violent guy who wants to kill you is to kill him first.

  • Actually the film deals with the dangers of propoganda and the perversion of technology. Firearms and other technology in and of themselves is neutral. Take for example the robot peace. Originally he was programed for evil and then Avatar changed him for good. Peace could not make his own choice. Peace was nothing more than a tool

  • It is true that peace is a tool that can be used for evil. Some would take peace at any cost, even on their knees. Peace is not always the best alternative.

  • way to read wikipedia roidfits.

  • Yup, that's my source. But, what I said is very Apparent. :). Bissous pour vous parce que tu as trouvé la verité sur Wikipedia. Es-Tu hereux maintenant? Tu as découvert la verité de moi. Maintenant, vas t'en tabernak.

  • Ironic pwnage.

  • That was awesome!

  • OMG What a weird way to pull the magic trigger! ;3

  • im glad you changed your last name you son a bitch... BANG! BANG!

  • hahahahahaha!

  • Ralph's best film IMO

shoots Black Wolf with a Luger... I love it!

  • The Luger was a deliberate irony since Black Wolf favored the Nazis.

  • Nice beards.
