I just don't understand it. They never could have lost this battle. Their nukes alone should have one-shotted the ha'taks, and they had a full complement of fighters.
The lucien guys have a few years of expericence at most, so they're going to be bad flyers compared to the earth ones, and the defences on the ground should have had no difficulty.
Therefore, we are forced to conclude it is all for the sake of the plot, and so I ignore everything that it caused.

But I admit, they probably could have held off if the Daedalus at Icarus had those beam weapons that the Asgard gave to them. I don't understand why they didn't
@starflame34 the ship wasn't finished building yet IIRC, it was just used as transport there, they didn't expect a massive attack so they thought that the ship would be fine even when not completely done
This is just sad! I mean, if you could fit all the space battles from this show into a 10 minute video, that is just sad! I really liked this show! I especially liked the fact that every battle was in pitch black space. Just how space really looks. That was really cool! Syfy just had to ruin the only outer space show going on their channel right now!

I don't understand why that Daedalus class ship didn't use the Asgard beam weapons on those Hataks. They work great on Wraith Hive ships AND Ori ships which can tear apart an entire Hatak to shreds in one shot!
@starflame34 this is based before season 10 of sg-1... its during the time period where carter left and was captain of the daedalus in the 8th or 9th season... so o beam weapons yet....

@TheOtherFIST If Destiny was replaced entirely with a BC-304 like the Oddyssey, the crew would not have to worry about any attacks. The Asgard Beams will take care of large ships. And I'm pretty sure the railguns can manage the smaller ships such as the Drones.
@MsCcProductions it's not even just old it's also outdated compared to the other ancient warships we saw in sg1 and atlantis it was sent out before those other ships were made
That was such an awesome video!! thanks for putting it up! the show was amazing as well, I wish it had been given more of a chance. It kind of filled 2 voides, both the SG and BSG franchises sort of wrapped into one show. I still think the guys who work on Stargates special effects do a much better job than the teams that work on shows like V on abc.
@No2647 this is set to take place before sg-1 season 10 when they got the beam weapons. Just compare the timeframe of when Carter was captain to when she was captain on sg-1. I want to say about season 9? maybe back half of 8 or early 10?
Unfortunately I never followed SGU because of time issues. However, I was rather dissapointed when they decided to cancel Stargate Atlantis which was an extremely brilliant show. Now they can't even pull off to make the movie that has been promised for so long. I never watched SGU to be a fan but I can imagine that all the fans are as put out as I was when Stargate Atlantis was cancelled. I think it would have been best if Stargate SG1 were to have been continued. STARGATE FOREVER!!

@walterchamber Not impossible, just really, really difficult. The Firefly fans getting Serenity is proof that's it's possible. I just don't see the producers putting the effort in to getting it back on the air.
@Stingmon21 Uh, Brad Wright has been working hard to get the shwoback for months, in the end they couldn't get the money in time for movies and no other network wanted it. The sets will be gone soon if they're not already, there definitely won't be a live-action continuation, the only hope at this point is novels or copmics, which everyone should be tweeting about.
