  • I want that fucking boat...

  • what boat is that ?

  • I hear that those motors break because they put out so much power. Damn...

  • AMAZING SOUND!!

  • Yeah 500 2-stroke horsepower. LOVE IT

  • una mierda

  • i have twin 250 etech's on my boat too its a 22 ft. path finder bay boat

  • etec's are good but i recommend yamahas

  • @MegaHarrison99

u dont know shit little boy

  • Why do the engines give a 'kick' at 45 seconds? Seems to coincide with when full power comes on.

  • @theberengersniper thats when the exhaust port opens up wider allowing for more exhaust gases to leave the cylinder and this gives the engine a huge increase in power and torque which gives you a kick....all of that is controlled by the engine's computer and it usually kicks in at around 4,000 rpm

  • evinrudes are shit get a mercury or a honda

  • Actually you're wrong... The technology of four strokes were first used in the military before personal application. My cousin who is a navy seal used small 4-strokes on their rafts. They offered better reliability and stealth with their low dbs. Two things that 2 strokes lack. Also, look at the application of the US Coast Guard. They're using Honda 4-strokes. State conservationists use Honda 4-strokes. The NYPD and FDNY use Yamaha 4-strokes. At the end of the day, you get what you pay

  • @DJMikeFury yep ok i'm sure they used 4 strokes before they had the e-tec...now with the new etec technology they're quiet like a four stroke and very reliable...they also need an outboard that starts instantly unlike a fourstroke the etec starts on the first revolution of the crank shaft...

  • @DJMikeFury try flipping over a RIB with any fourstroke or any other brand outboard on it and start the motor after it was submerged under water for some time, i'm sure you won't be able to start it. The 50 hp multi-fuel etec can do just that and i'm sure the army and any military forces for the US would want that. They probably wouldn't want a heavy fourstroke on the back of their boat if they're in danger and their boat flips and they can't restart the motor because it can't be dewatered...

  • @DJMikeFury and yea you're right some Coast Guard units in my area still do have honda four strokes on them because they're still in the process of repowering to the evinrude etec, about 85% of the Coat Guard boats in my area are now powered by the etec because they're faster, use less gas, have less maintenance, and they don't have to do a single thing on them for 300 hours, makes sense right? i've spoken to them and they've told me for themselves, it was an excellent decision to switch to etec

  • Lol fishaholic are you sure you're not paid by evinrude? Btw, I don't have verados.. I have twin F225 Yamahas... Famous last words "one day" yea I'm still waiting... Have fun with mixing your oil, smoking up the joint while listening to your lawn mower engine...haha and by the way, the us military uses 4 strokes.. And they use the best equipment available.. You lose again haha

  • @DJMikeFury oh wow you have yamaha's! thats great...i have an etec that doesn't need mixing of oil with the fuel, it does that automatically and 95% of the oil doesn't go in the fuel, it gets injected into precise points on the engine where needed. doesn't smoke, doesn't sound like a lawn mower engine, IS IN FACT CLEANER THAN ANY OUTBOARD MOTOR ON THE MARKET, and will smoke your ass in any torque and speed test. nope i'm not paid by evinrude, i'm just supporting a damn good product.

  • @DJMikeFury nope your wrong again actually, the us military uses evinrude's multi fuel outboards, they run on anything from kerosene to any type of jet fuel and any grade of gas...i personally know many people in the navy and guess what they're using? evinrude etecs...and so are the on water state police and coast guard. i never saw one yamaha or mercury on a state police boat or a coast guard boat..and neither has any of my buddies in the navy seen a 4 stroke on any of their boats....

  • You're obviously an idiot fishaholic... 9 comments to get your stupid idiotic point across lmao... You're a fanboy if I ever saw one.. Once again have fun with your dinosaur technology... If it was such a great technology... Don't you think other companies would carry large assortments of 2 strokes? Of course not, cause they suck lol you're such a noob haha

  • @DJMikeFury yea that shows how much i know compared to you...all you say is oh your such a noob, have fun with your dinosaur technology and your such a fanboy...get some real facts before you start talking shit about a motor...you don't see companies carrying large assortments of 2 strokes because they're too dumb to realize it's the better motor and they've stupidly wasted tons of money making all their motors 4 strokes!

  • @DJMikeFury don't worry, one day you'll learn how much of a pain in the ass a four stroke is....especially a small displacement verado that gets pushed to its limits to barely make the advertised horsepower, lets see how long that verado will last compared to a large displacement e-tec...the evinrude has alot of overbuilt and oversize parts that are made to last...you see pretty much the opposite in a verado...

  • evinrude etec all the way. Theres not a 4 stoke on the market that can beat a etec never gonna happen. You wast your timr buying a 4 stoke you won't be happy with it.

  • cazzo

  • At 0:36 when the engines tilt, does that happen automatically at a given throttle/speed or is the coxswain always responsible for doing that manually?

  • @theberengersniper the driver does it to lift more of the boat out of the water

  • @theberengersniper you trim the motors up when you go at high speeds....no they do not do this automatically, you trim the motors up and find the point where you get the highest rpms and speed without getting cavitation....

  • how fast can this get up to??

  • How much Horsepower have one of this engines? sorry for my english. i am a german :)

  • @Houseandmore these motors are approx 250hp at the prop shaft...

  • @coalie1979 yea ok and where are you doing 80 knots and on what boat? first off, i don't even see half of these cigarrette boats doing that... do you even know what a knot is? lol

  • Aweeeesssssomeeeeeee what 60 knots?

  • To bad evinrude johnson has no 4 stroke technology. When they did produce a 4 stroke for 2 years it was a mercury with a johnson sticker on it

  • @jaredlucky650 why is it to bad. 4 stroke outboards suck. They need to start making etec johnsons.

  • no thanks... still annoying 2 stroke sound and smoke

  • @DJMikeFury if you complain about the sounds and smells you get when boating. You shouldnt be boating.

  • @Rlnthndr have fun with your dinosaur motors and the blue cloud of smoke.. so 1980s haha as far as boating is concerned, you think by getting some cheap alternative outboards make you more of a boater... such a fool... we had our days of old 2 strokes like suzuki and mercury... with the new 4 strokes that came out.. they're replacing the last line of defense for 2 strokes... better out of hole times and it's not even close! just check out the videos online.. bass boats are moving to them! BYE!

  • @DJMikeFury Well I actually own a 29 coastal with 2 stroke's from 2004, so no im not in the 1980s, and from what I read My 2 strokes have better hole shot, better top speed, and I dont have to worry about oil changes. Since two strokes make power on every RPM not every other RPM like a 4 stroke, Also the e-10 doesn't hurt them a bit. When you graduate from your silly little bass boats to a real boat. Then you can talk. and my cloud of blue smoke is no big deal, only lasts a second at start up.

  • @DJMikeFury no they're actually really quiet, use less gas then a four stroke and i know this because i own one, they do not smoke one bit even if it's 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside and i know this because i've tried it and you only get steam, they make less pollution than a four stroke, and they are even quieter then a four stroke on WOT. i know all this because i own one and use it on average 150-200 hours a year and haven't had a single hiccup with my evinrude....

  • @fishaholic2012 you're bugging.. haha two different people i know saw their etecs blow up... enough said...

  • @fishaholic2012 two people I personally know had their etecs blow up... poor construction.. old technology... loud... smoke up everywhere...plus the life on four strokes is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more longer than 2 strokes as evidenced by my friends two boats.. they're a POS... They don't burn less than 2 strokes cause my friends replace their etecs with 4 stroke yamahas and got about 30% more fuel efficiency.. i'm sorry they duped you...

  • @DJMikeFury acutally that's complete BULL SHIT....before i bought my motor i tried all brands of motors on my boat before i bought my etec...verados were way to heavy and sucked the gas out of my tank like there was a leak in it but let me tell you the were very quiet, yamaha was alittle lighter but still too heavy and guzzled gas, the optimax was way to loud used too much oil and gas, honda was just a dead weight, ok on gas but very slow...i didn't even consider the tohatsu...

  • @DJMikeFury after i tried all those motors which were well built motors but just didn't perform i tried the etec, amazing hole shot, fastest top speed i've ever had on the boat, sipped on gas, after trying it for an hour the gas needle didn't even move, and it didn't even use any oil. loved the sound, super quiet on idle and just flat out, out performed all the motors i've tried.

  • @DJMikeFury have fun changing the oil, adjusting the valve clearances, changing your timing belt, changing your oil filter, and replacing your spark plugs every 100 hours because as far as i'm concerned every 300 hours all i have to do is change my spark plugs, change the lower unit oil, grease the fittings and THATS IT!! oh and dinosaur technology? my etec injector has stratified combustion mode and normal running mode above 2,000 rpms, my exhaust ports change size based on running speed

  • @fishaholic2012 on top of all that my evinrude etec makes over 8 million calculations per second to give me the best fuel economy and performance...plus with a verado four stroke you have to break it in which is a huge pain in the ass and to winterize it you have to bring it to the dealer because its too complicated for people to do...with my etec just press some buttons move the throttle into fast idle position and presto! its winterized, cost of my winterization $0. yours hahaha God only knows

  • @fishaholic2012 and what does your merc verado injector do? NOTHING except pour fuel into the engine...my etec injector shoots fuel into the cylinder at 600 psi your merc four stroke does it at somewhere around 35 psi...thats the same amount of pressure thats in the fuel lines before it gets to the injector....

  • Comment removed

  • @DJMikeFury my etec is also much simpler than your verado four stroke..it doesn't have camshafts, valves, belts, supercharger, and another 150 more parts to go wrong..its made clean, light, simple and reliable, now about longevity, evinrude etec will out live any fourstroke on the market. they're pistons are made with a new alloy invented by nasa which is 3x stronger then your aluminum pistons and they have boron-nitrate cylinder bores....and my etec takes regular gasoline, doesn't need 91octane

  • @fishaholic2012 i personally know commercial fishermen that have twin and tripple 300 hp etecs on their work boats and they have logged over 16,000 hours on their engines and not one problem..thats right SIXTEEN THOUSAND HOURS and i was there when they checked their motor's computer with a laptop to see how many hours it has logged...oh thats another thing your black POS can't do...

  • @DJMikeFury good luck getting home when your supercharger fails or a timing belt fails...if my etec runs out of oil, it can run for 5 hours at 2,000 rpms with the oil it has in the crankcase, if 5 hours isn't enough you can stop for a while let it cool off and do it again for another 5 hours over and over until you get back home... i bet the optimax or a yamaha hpdi can't do that...

  • Whoever can't afford the nice and reliable yamaha goes for the cheap and noisy etec

  • Yamahas are reliable but dogs in the performance department.

  • @Sierra688 I guess you didn't see the new 4 stroke lines from Yamaha. They are much lighter and have better out of hole times that the 2 strokes now. You have to see them. Even bass boats are getting them instead of the 2s. It was just a matter of time.

  • I Love You E-Techs! This I What I D for A Living! Tune Tune These Beautiful Engine's!

  • 0:45 Music to my ears, two v6 etecs screamin across the water, thats what I want to hear!!

  • i own twin 200 hp evinrude johnsons 89' and im upgrading to new twin 250 hp mercury racing engines 99' my boat is 26 feet long and they max. hp is 400 and im going to put on an extra 100 hp will the boat still run good?

  • @pavia08 Depends on what boat it is. And don't plan on getting insurance, no one will cover an over powered boat.

  • @wipenoutx haha never have never will get insurance

  • for god sake go buy a honda

  • What do u Guys think about the 1988 200 hp evinrudes? Looking at a boat with twins. Thanks

  • @bestofnofx1 hey i just sold my old 89 evinrudes twin 200 hp. they were B-E-A-utiful. i am currentlly getting twin 250 hp mercury racing engines for my 26 foot mako. my evinrudes 89' at full speed sounding like b-29 bombers. get the 88' you wont regret them.!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually every company steal from each other....yamaha steal OMC V4 design for their legendary 115hp Enduro, mercury steal Yamaha stator design after red stator giving boaters hard time..and so on...

  • evinrude motors are great... i run a single 150bhp etech motor on my revenger 715 and i clear the just under 60mph mark with a surface peircing prop and with the motor trimmed up rite on flat water... but on the bigger revenger i have im runnin twin 225bhp merc's with 5blade props and that hits the 72mph mark and that is a revenger 29 but both boats will easily hit the 55mph mark in big water flat out... but tbh the evinrude motor has had one electrical problem on it..

  • Not really, the one with the 350 Verados does 80 knots with 700hp. So this one does around 57 kts with 500hp, of course not counting the extra person, and probably different fuel load.

  • I've had both Evinrude and Yamaha and it's Yamaha hands down for me. When American workers make quality products I'll come back but not before...I work too hard for my money to buy shoddy products with it,

  • @azbill00 Yeah I don't know Mercury seems to make some great products...However Yamaha's seem almost bullet proof...I know guys with 500 hours!!! on their engines with no problems whatsoever...

  • I definitely like the other vid with the Verado SCi's alot more...

  • No wonder, you're talking about 200 more horsepower

  • nice shot

  • evinrude, Johnson or Yamaha are the best.

  • i have a twin 250 evindude--when do i need to change the spak plugs-and must i change the gear oil as well?---thanks for ur responce

  • u have twin 250 e-tec and u don't know when u gotta change those things!? u know anything about boating?

  • Ok. If these are good motors, then go out on a boat, look at other boats, and 75%-80% will be Yamaha. The other motors will be junky evinrude and suzuki which steal parts from yammi and make etecs.. WHICH SUCK

  • Yamaha had to steal OMC designs in order to enter the market. Now they are finally starting to use their own designs. OMC (now BRP) had a rough patch but now is on the upswing. I guess that makes you mad since you support the thieving Yamaha engineers.

  • outboard porn :P

  • @max34342 LOL

  • i could listen to them all day...

  • Canadian junk.....buy american an american job depends on it.. I saw 2 boats the US Army bought in alaska with Hondas on them! Can you belive that? Your tax monies buying honda?

  • fuck you canadian junk!!! lets see your boat then you can talk

  • Buy american, they don't make outbords, okay they put a sticker on them...and about tax wait for Obama's dream to come through and you will pay up to 50% in tax within 10years.....

  • @Foreximo Obama is an ass... wait for that VAT tax that Europe has... it will kill us

  • Merc= only American motor made

Merc=More problems and expense to taxes

    Merc=Ford of Outboards,,,lol,,,enough said

    Honda= Never break down,Last 3x as long

  • Your not getting my point. A honda purchase isnt as effective to the american economy as a merc purchase would be. Its money already spent why not spend it on american made products.

  • Canadian junk? Thats what you get when you let an american build an outboard I guess Canadian junk lol. Americans are so stupid, these motors are built in the good ole us of a my friend, If they are junk there is no one to blame but yourselves. Dummy.

  • 2-strokes, even with EFI, have a loud noise.

  • 2-stroke makes a lot of of smoke, especially in an early winter morning! :-)

  • Evinrudes are 2 strokes and they don't make any smoke.

  • Take another look at this video, and youll see smoke.

  • Take another look, thats steam not smoke

  • @seamus021001 2 stroke smoke hass a bluish tint to it and is much more thick. Thats steam.

  • @sangolt88 not true...only with the carbed ones, not with the direct injected ones..

  • I have never heard about gay engines !

  • Guess you've never had a mercury then huh?

  • EVINRUDE is not bad...but white outboards on a black RIB looks very gay!...

  • 2 stroke got much more power than a 4 stroke

  • The technology is going forward, so soon the 4-stroke will be much better :P

  • the engines are in the water a little deep dont cha' think

  • go Etec, way better than a 4stroke. higher performance with less weight, and lets not forget that most boats are designed for the lighter weight of a 2 stroke outboard.

  • i would prefer a yamaha 4 stroke to cruise and stuff but an etec to show off lol

  • 4 STROKES WAY OVERRATED......in theory, yes, they are more fuel efficient and quieter. But in reality they are not always much more efficient than an etec. But they are also heavier, slower, require high maintenance. I know lots of people who feel that their boats dont perform well with 4 strokes. Dont get me wrong, I would any 4 stroke over a 2 stroke mercury any day. And maybe etecs dont have the long term reliability of a japanese engine, but, they are a hell of a nice engine, and have BALLS!

  • e-tec is the single best motor on the market today. they last 90 times as long as a jap motor.

  • maybe on a bas boat in the lake or river, but in the ocean u gotta go 4 strokes cause the last thing u want is ur motors dead on ur boat 50 mi offshore and have to pay Sea Tow lol

  • What, the only thing to go out on an Etec is the computer or fuel and oil injectors, on a 4 stroke you have the computer fuel injectors, timing set, valves, oil pump, and all sorts of other stuff

  • i can one up you both CARBURATED 2 STROKE JOHNSON!

  • Great Marine Engines

  • I just love that sound of twinnies powering up awesome

  • they died at the end stupid E-fails evinrude maybe an old company but they still suck ass

  • Those e-tech outboards sounded very loud. Also, one of those 250 engines would have done a good job rather than two. The only way that I can see someone putting two engines (500 horsepower) on a R.I.B inflatable is if it was a police boat, Seal, Navy, Coast Guard ect.

  • im glad brp took over that company... OMC=Obsolete Marine Corporation

  • we have a 94 johnson it kicks butt

  • Did a Cesna fly by or something?

  • That boat reminds me of the one in GTA 4

  • Mercury FTW

  • Comment removed

  • my 15 yami is better then those e-fails

  • my dad has a 90 etec and I have a 9.9 Yamaha carberated 2 stroke. I prefer the etec, much nicer engine, but I still love my Yamaha. how si teh etec a fail? better than any 4 stroke out there

  • Less noise, more reliable, better fuel efficiency, no need for 2 stroke oil. Overall there better. Your not even allowed to use 2 strokes in some lakes around here.

  • I'm pretty sure that you have to put oil in 4 strokes too. and who cares abotu noise anyway? and engine is supposed to make noise

  • Its about* And An not and*

2 strokes require special 2 stroke oil that mixes with the gas in order to operate, 4 strokes don't need any mixtures in their fuel in order for operation. A quite engine is preferred by most over a noisy engine.

  • e-tec is a 2 stroke.

  • No shiiit

  • hmmm so its a 2 stroke that doesnt require 2 stroke oil... so is it like a 4 stroke setup, using 2 stroke principles? like a diesel 2 stroke? ( i know this isnt diesel though)

  • no it does require 2 stroke oil.

  • E-tech = 4 stroke no fires gonna happen

  • E-tec is hightec two-stroke,

you can hear it very well...

  • @LYNX1992 the e-tec is not a 4 stroke...it's a direct injected 2 stroke...

  • hi what type of boat is that

  • its a r.i.b (rigid inflatable boat)

  • MY god those things are load. Get a verado

  • @mercuryverado100 verados are louder...any four stroke is louder than these direct injected two strokes but i just doesn't sound that way....look on the evinrude website and all over the internet...the etecs are the cleanest and quietest engines on the market...they don't sound like it because their sound isn't so harmonious like a four stroke is, and the etec makes less decibels on WOT then a four stroke does...

  • @fishaholic2012 not even close lol those etecs are screamers... lol you're such a fanboy... i like how you say.. check evinrude's website out lol as if there isn't a bias there... have fun with your dinosaur technology lol

  • @DJMikeFury they're streamers on WOT but they make less decibels then ANY four stroke i know of.....i've been on the water all my life and i've owned four strokes and two strokes, inboards, outboards, and inboard/outboards...you can tell me all the crap you want but these new direct injected motors from evinrude are quieter then any four stroke and two stroke on the market...

  • your funny the guy who said your going to need a fire extiguisher not what kind of peice do you have

  • Geez, you need a good set of ear plugs for those bad boys! And with two E-Tecs of that size you would want a good size fire extiguisher too!

  • I agree they are high pitched & too loud.

  • Why would you need a fire extinguisher? I don't have a fire extinguisher any more. Used it all up on my mercs.

  • haha :D

  • YES YOU ARE RIGHT

  • 1993 Mercury, still pretty fast for an older model. The new ones are even faster now and way better on gas.

  • i used to have a 32 foot ciggarette and i got up to 55 mph with twin 200 mercury 1993 but noting compared to this beasts

  • Should of had Opitmax instead, faster and better on gas.

  • sounds like a diesel engine....

  • ahhhh he sweet sound of an evinrude

  • I have driven two identical boats that were powered by twin 250 e-tecs, and twin 250 mercury optimaxes. The boat with the twin mercurys out performed the boat with the e-tecs in acceleration and fuel consumption.

  • I'd still take an Etec over a Poptimax any day. Etecs rule. I don't even really believe you that the mercury outperformed it.

  • Ok then don't believe me. Look it up for yourself.

The e-tec is a direct injected 2 stroke just like the Optimax. Both get good fuel economy and good performance, but Mercury has done much better with direct injection so far, plus they have been doing it much longer than the E-tec has been around.

  • How the heck can merc be better then rude with fuel injection? Rude has an electric fuel filter and that gets it perfect every time. Merc is still stuck in the 80's. Junk.

  • uh try verados you retard, thats not 80s. EVINRUDE IS!

  • BWB also ran a similar test of 225 DFI 2-strokes, same competitors and rules (see"The Main Event", also by John Tiger, jr). Their results:

    Top speed:

E-TEC: 84.2 mph (86.7 mph with a new production design gearcase)

    Optimax: 90.0 mph

    HPDI: 84.9 mph

    Best Fuel Economy:

E-TEC: 5.0 mpg (5.7 mpg with a new production design gearcase)

    Optimax: 6.2 mpg

    HPDI: 5.8 mpg

All DFI's are pretty close with each other.

  • I had experience with all those motors the mercury starts burning less gas after the brake-in and a few hours of running

  • I have a 2006 23 mako with a 225 etec. My fuel burn at 32 mph is 8.1 gph. And i can troll for 6 hrs on 1 gallon of gas. My top speed is 50mph. And i have owned yamaha and mercury. I love my Etec!!

  • Noisy Two stroke I am afraid

  • i didn't mean 70 mph, i meant 70 knot:-P

  • my friend has a revenger 27 with 2 evinrude e-tech 250hk. one day i drove the boat alone and i got up to 70 mph.(i'm only 15 years old:-P)

  • wow i wanna faster engine for grady white 336

  • yeah they are nice!!!! my dad has an 07' 250 e-tec..you know the dealer has to program which type oil you will run xd-50 xd-75 xd-100..the xd-100 was 50 dollars a gallon 6 months ago..

  • Rudes Rock! How lovely they sound. Evinrude V-TECS are the only way to go...They make sense, and run forever. Check out the Evinrude-Yamaha drowning!

  • @ 46 seconds in the video, the engines are absolute harmonius hell, what a beautiful thing

  • These are really nice motors. I went out on a RIB with 2x 225 Etec's on it. Fully fueled with 12 passengers, it hit 40 mph.

  • Sounds like a boring and slow ride

  • duded ur on crack they are v6

  • Actually it is an inline 6...makes them incredibly smooth.

  • do you know any about boat engines bakerbrianj? they are v6's

  • those engines are V8... right

  • too bad they run about17 - 25 gs a peice

  • Theres no way they had both of the e-tecs at full throttle. That boat wouldn't have been able to stay on the water.

  • 150 hp and up outboard engines sound is music for your ears

  • Dammn. Smokin'

  • Oh yeah:Dhhehehe thats just sick:D

  • holly shit 500hp on a inflatable boat crazy!!!

  • Wow, thats awsome, it looked dangerous haha, but the boat floated nice in the water

  • It shows why evinrude is still in business (sort of)

Next time open up the throttle right out of the hole!

(I hate it when they ease up the speed - you're making a movie for christs sakes)

  • i love the purr of twins
