I get the feeling though it's not specifically lana you hate just smallvilles version of her as for chloe no-one can judge cause no-one knows her true outline.

It's when they had other Kryptonians, who've barely spent 1 minute on Earth, know everything there is to know about their powers is when I had problems with it. Also flight=/= Superman. There are so many versions of Superman, it's not even funny. There is no set continuity. Superman didn't even fly when he was first created. There are versions where he could fly as a boy, hence Superboy. So, there is no real reason why Clark can't fly on Smallville except that they aren't allowed to do it (because of WB) and they don't want to do it (because that would mean the end of the show at this point).
