Ive got a suspicion that this whole rule change proposal about assisted-opening knives is nothing but a ploy to turn more Americans unwittingly into felons over the knives which they already possess, which would then in turn mean that they cannot continue to legally own the firearms which they already possess, or purchase other firearms from FFLs in the future.

it's good the bill didn't pass. but the mere fact that they even considered it is crazy. they're just trying to get people used to this type of thing so next time when someone suggests it, and the bill passes, people will think "oh well we saw it coming." it won't be such a big surprise. to ban pocket knives is dumb, i mean come on, pre-teen boy scouts carry knives.

A few months back this was news. Not anymore...it's my understanding this bill did not pass first reading and is now DEAD.

They even interview custom knife-maker Ken Onion (for those that don't know he lives in Hawaii) on the news regarding this issue.

This is a valid Bill and if you have info that it was voted out then that is good.

The fact still remains the Senator needs to be voted out of office period because behavior like this is insane and the state of Hawaii should understand this.

This bill very well might have got voted down but the new Customs bill is very valid and is going into effect June 30, 2009 which does not matter.

I want to raise awareness that this is what is going on that is the point, people need to become active.

The ban on all pocket knives will go into effect in the US on June 30th, 2009.

Go to KnifeRights on the org site and read the new bill US Customs and Homeland Security wants to implement. It will classify all one handed opening knives as switchblades. Next video is coming soon and is very important.
