@xrisxs You need to be able to show off your songs near record reps. that are looking for a new sound. This usually involves paying attention to underground and having connections. Also anyone that can gather a large crowd always gets signed. Hope this helps. I usually try to think of how people have already made it in the industry and its usually one of those two ways.

@T2024 You should record a demo of 3-4 songs, then send it along with a presentation package, such as photos, a bio, and some press articles where people have reviewed your music. You need to build your resume, by auditioning for things, and try to get more exposed by using myspace, youtube, twitter, or facebook. You should try to perform at some gigs as well. They don't mention, at least in this video, how hard it really is, and the amount of rejection you get. Best of luck if you go for it!
