  • Mortimer?! Sounds like something from King Arthur and The Round Table!

  • @snowboardgirl63 Sir Mortimer Guinea pig. It has a nice ring to it. WE rescued Mortimer from an animal shelter. The FOOL who was his owner didn't want him anymore and had turned him loose at the local park!!! We lovingly took him in and was a part of our familly for about 6 years.

  • The little one at 0:27 looks EXACTLY like my TeddyBear. <3

  • @xxTheUndeadGirlxx Those TEddy bear guinea pigs are so cute. My favorite are abbysinians.

  • @bearinmybackyard I had one of these babies, She was blind and had one tooth she lived a few months with me hand feeding her liquidised g.pig food, formula milk and water. The vet said it was a miracle she lasted so long. She was called 'Babe' after the pig :(

  • Hey I have that white little one but I named mine SnowBall!

  • @guieapigshow Snowball is a really cute name!!

  • I'm so sorry to hear that Angel died. I'm so glad that she had you to care for her during her one month. Having a lethal guinea pig can be so sad. I'm also sorry to hear about the mother and father guinea pigs.. It can be so hard to lose guinea pigs. I'm glad to hear that you've given these piglets a good home and lots of love :)

  • Such a cute guinea pig!

  • Just to let you know, that Maggie, the mother guinea pig , died today and we buried her next to Mortimer- the daddy guinea pig and Angel the partially blind lethal guinea pig who died at age 1 month

  • aww how old did the baby white guinnie end up living?

  • @LilacBallpointPen Angel only lived for 1 month, unfortunately.

  • Im getting one this sunday baby!!!

  • so i guess my piggie wasnt so odd after all. she was born white blind and with normal teeth and one big snaggle tooth. she could always get her fair share of food though, normal weight. she even had 3 pups born with no defects. she lived for 6 and a half years. "lethal" pigs are not always a death sentence as long as the baby has some fight in them lol.

  • i just got a guinea pig and it sleeps and its a baby is that bad?

  • I hope and pray that Angel lives a long and happy life. She is very special.

  • I'm glad I research before breeding my guineas, I won't be getting a lethal as the daddy guinea pig is completely black, no white hairs. So sorry for little Angel. x

  • Are you sure it's a lethal? Looks fine to me? Not all white pigs are lethals, I have two

  • Hey BunnyCareVideos, yes not all all white guinea pigs are lethals, but if they are blind or partially blind, have no upper or lower teeth, digestive problems etc, then they are a lethal.

We took her to a vet to get the diagnosis which is the best thing to do if you are not sure.

  • Heey! My guinea pigs having babies soon! shes only 6 weeks =/ I luv the dad :D

  • Hey guineaPigGoGoGo, hope they are all good and healthy.

  • omigosh that is so adorable!!

  • Hey AllySMProductions, yes all guinea pigs are adorable.

  • my guinea pig had some babies 2 days ago. One of them looks just like that white one. Really cute. We had a litter of four but one died of complications. I'm not sure what it was but physically the poor thing didn't have fully developed feet

  • Hey strangexvision, sorry to hear that you lost one. Did you take your babies to the vet to have them checked out? If a mother guinea pig hasn't had her first litter by the time she is 6 months old, then the pelvic bones fuse and any pregnancy after that will probably have complications.

  • I didn't think it was neccesary, the rest of them were very healthy, I'm just used to the having baby pets, and it's quite common for one of the group to pass away. I examined the babies myself everyday just in case since i have been taught how to do so during my animal care classes since i am training to be a vet. Anyhow two have gone to new homes and i kept the smallest one. She's fighting fit and growing a lot. 3 months old now <3

  • this is so sweet! i have a lethal pig, Matilda, i took her from a shop as they didnt realise what was wrong with her. she has no bottom front teeth but luckily she has molars so she can chew. so we have to grate all her fruit and vegs and she eats grass and hay no problem. We just have to take her to the vet to get her top teeth clipped every month. she is deaf and blind but gets on very well with her roomie! very affectionate

  • forgot to mention that is is 11months now so doing very well!

  • Hey skipsie, I am so happy to hear that. We just couldn't get Angel to take the critical care guinea pig food even though everything was mushed up and same with her veggies.

  • those are some cute guinea pigs i have one thats 2 yrs old now and her name is jasmine and i got her from a pet store as a baby her nicknames are jazz, jazzy, tweet tweet, and fluffy butt...........i know thats a weird nickname but it suits her:).My friend and i have a channel together and she has a hamster named Ella its really cute!!!

  • Oh so many piggys ...so sweet!!

  • oh my gosh those are such cute guinea pigs!!! lol I miss mine

  • check out my guinea pig vids

  • I will!!

  • My piggy just had her babies. =) I'm absolutely in love with your babies. Ashame about "Angel" though. RIP little one. xx

  • Hey Alliby, thanks. We still have all our guinea pigs, but Daddy pig- Mortimer, is getting quite old and is starting to slow down a bit.

  • GOOD LUCK!!!

  • Hey 33guineaSqueak, thanks, but unfortunately, we had to put Angel down because of all her birth defects.

  • i have 2 guinea pigs, one is white and one is brown, they are brothers. my brown guinea pig jake is really clever, but shaun the white one is a little slow and doesn't seem to understand and explore things like jake.

  • HEy kvidouploads, the two males we have , Morti is daring and Torti is a scarrdy pig!!LOL!!

  • my guinea pig gave birth this morning. good luck with the white one =)

  • HyperXventilation, How many babies did she have?

  • i had my guinea pig had a litter of babies once and one of them was born blind. At first I thought she had gunt in her eyes and couldnt open them, took her to the vets and they had a look and found that there were no eyeballs in the sockets. She was an amazing guinea pig her hearing and sense of smell was increadible she would follow behind her sisters so she had them as her pair of eyes.

  • HEy , glad to hear that she was able to overcome her disability.that's awesome

  • CUTE GUINEA PIGS. MY GUINEA PIG JUST HAD BABYS.U R sweet and scary at the same time!!!!!!!!!cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Hey superloleypopgirl, how many babies did she have?

  • Hey I need help! I want two GIRL BABY guinea pigs1 Where can i get them?

  • at a pet store...duhh..go to petsmart..

  • i was thinking NOT from a petstore. like i want them from petfinder or a animal shelter. or somethin..

  • yeah a breeder would be the best choice..but oh well good luck..

  • thx

  • I would much rather get them from breeders..but oh well.

  • when a guinea pig makes babys which will the baby guinea pig will look like? mom or dad

please reply back or cmmt me please

  • u can only predict how the babies will look like because there are no 100%. u will understand this when u take a biology class

  • Hey powlow70, it depends on whose genes they inherit, the same way that you get some of your dad's genes and some of your mom's genes.

  • Doesnt the mother kill defective babies?

  • Hey Ariadnnae, I guess you weren't thinking when you made this comment.Instead of attacking people, you should TALK to them first. Because Angel was partially blind, Mom and babies had to be in a smaller cage so that Angel could find her mother and be able to nurse. Female guinea pigs only have 2 teats but DON'T keep track of which babies have nursed and which haven't. It was the vet who made the recommendation.

  • god bless soooo cute!!

  • Hey AnimeCreatorxx, I really love my guinea pigs

  • Hi There cute pig, What does it mean if the pig's eye is red ? Is that normal coz my sisters pig is like that

  • Hey manovleedz, red eyes just mean that they are ALBINO eyes which is normal

  • cute guinea pigs! i have an extremely long haired brown one.

  • Hey gwenwindit, yes, giving them haircuts can be just wild.

  • poor lethal guinea pig!I{ Mine looks like that too but has teeth and aint blind

  • Hey Mrcoment, yours is an albino guinea pig. they are so cute also.

  • did lethal guinea pig survive?

  • Hey mrcoment, no, Angel had to be put down.

  • Guinea pigs are sooooooo CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey cupcake4hm, guinea pigs rock!!LOL!!

  • HON, I suggest you get a Life

  • and by your comment, you must not have one either!!LOL!!

  • is it alright or no?

  • HEy felicia2255, no, Angel died.

  • Why did u even breed Roan To Roan? Did u not know you would have a lethal?

  • Hey pitbullsrfamily4life, unfortunately, we didn't know that roans even existed and we payed the price and it broke my heart. that is why I posted these vids about Angel being a lethal so that others would learn from our mistake and not make the same one. IT really broke my heart when I finaly had to have Angel put down. I cried all the way to the vets office and all the way back and we buried Angel in our little pet graveyard in the back.

  • that is sad, I am sorry. I had a guinea pig die octpber 15, 2007. he was my sweet heart I loved him dearly. how old was she when you had to pu her down?

  • Hey alania421, she was only 4 weeks old.

  • roan to roan? whats that mean, like the color roan? Or like one defective gene

  • hey anolenina, you can tell if a guinea pig is a roan [ carrier of a defective gene} by their color. Roans have white hairs mixed in with their colored patches. If a guinea pig has color patches that are solid [just that one color in the patch then they are ok. IF they have a few white hairs mixed inside the colored patch of fur, then they are a roan and carry the defective gene.

  • so sad she passed away! May she live forever in another place. Rest in peace. So cute!!! artgonewrong, great you run a rescue - so many guinea pigs! Wow one year since them guinea pigs - how have they got on?

  • Hey xfarmxgirlx, yes, the babies are now 1 year old and doing great. we kept them all because we knew they carried the roan gene to I didn't want anyone to accidently breed them and make the same mistake we did. Morti the dad and Torti the son live in the same cage since Torti was 3 weeks old and are so happy together. The girls Lizzy and Tizzy live together and are also very happy.

  • hi im sorry that she dided and i hope she has a lovly time in hevon and she will aways love you in hevon and im am trebly sorry i hope the others are happy

  • Hey frenchkitty1, yes, Angel is missed. the other babies are a year old and are still with us. We have a guinea pig run out side that the boys and girls take turns using when the weather is ok.

  • Only 5? That's nothing! We have 21. No, we don't breed...we (my wife and I) run a rescue.

    We once had 34.

  • Hey artgoewrong, i think that is just awesome. mOre power too you. If you want a laugh, a couple of years ago when we were look to rescue a guinea pig, there were none in any of the shelters. what a fluke.

  • so cute, my guinea pig babies are all black and abysinnian

  • I love abyssinians.

  • hey how many months/ years will i wait before my guinea pig become so fat & big?..just like your guinea pig?..

  • IF you are going to breed your female, she must have her first litter by 6 months otherwise the pelvic bones fuse and make it harder for her to give birth.

  • hey how many moths/ years will i wait before my guinea pig become so fat & big?..just like your guinea pig?..

  • Hey, usually before a year they will be that big. IF the sow has given birth, then she stays really big from the pregnancy.

  • my guinea pig had 5 babies and i had a white one just like that one... unfortunatly, it died about 2 weeks or so. i was devastated...good luck i hope she lives long

  • Hey xgenxnoellex, unfortunately, Angel only lived 4 weeks. We tried as hard as we could to try and get him to take "Critical Care" guinea pig food for piggies who are sick or don't have teeth. Unfortunately, as hard as we tried, we didn't succeed.

  • RIP Angel!

  • Thanks. Can't believe that it is almost 1 year ago that Angel was born. I still shed some tears when I see this vid.

  • omfg u dont feed your guinea pig spagetti

  • LOL!!

  • Only 5? That's nothing! We have 21. No, we don't breed...we (my wife and I) run a rescue.

    We once had 34.

  • I salute you in your rescue of all of those piglets. So many need homes.

  • Thank you! We've adopted almost all of them out. We're down to 11, but only 3 are available for adoption. We're keeping the rest. They're like family to us.

    Abyssinians, we have two.

  • I have 23 piggy's

  • I have 5 and I find that a handful.

  • Guinea Pigs are special and takes about 2 months when their pregnant, then when the babies are born they are born with teeth, eyes open and full hair!Unlike other rodents with a 2 week gestation cyle and are born blind and hairless!

  • oh how cute i have a male guinea he is six months old how do your mother guinea pigs get so big wow!.

  • If only every animal owner says "...but we will keep her and lover her forever." So many people discard animals if they don't meet their expectations - you are great examples of commitment for caring for pets!

  • Hey Anointedharpist, we tried our hardest to get Angel to thrive, but it got to the point that he was starving so it broke my heart to have to have him put down, but we buried him in our backyard so that he could , in a way, still be with us.

  • I wish you luck in raising the other babies. I can never tell babies apart from male and female. They all seem like a cute little bundle!

  • Hey thegaos, we had the vet tell us which babies were boys and which were girls. the babies are now all grown up and happy. we still have them.

  • Aww! That is so adorable! I'm so happy. Once my friend accidentally put a female baby in the male cage and then it inbreeded and it wasn't really pretty....

  • sorry to hear that.

  • well, they sold them. Even though they were inbreeds, they still looked adorable!!!

  • Male guinea Pigs genitalia looks like a small circle with an x in it, and the Female Guinea Pig genitals look like a V,then add the anus which is under the V,that looks like a Y.The males look like a circle with a X in the middle on a stick.

  • hey thanks! But they were already distinguished. How did you find that out? Why I tried to figure it out, they all sorta looked like Y's. even the guys.

  • After more than ten years of raising and breeding those cute 'lil teddy-bears,I just love them!I read about knowing their sex from a book!Mostly the males also have bigger heads than the females(just like cats)!I can tell them apart by just looking at them!well, after years you can tell them apart also!

  • Did the lethal make it? Maybe you should make the father a C&C, too. You should put cubes up, though, for the male, so he doesn't get out.

  • Oh, it's not coroplast. Go to cavycages dot com for cage information.

  • HEy Guineapiglove, the lethal didn't make it. what is a C&C? the male is in a seperate cage so there is no way he can get out.

  • OMG!! She's just like Snowball.

  • Hey Ooniii, unfortunately, the small white one was a "lethal" meaning he had inherited a defective gene from each parent and because of that had to be put down. Was yours an albino.

  • AW! I had a lethal yellow mouse baby, that died very young.

  • HEy ClandestineMice, I'm sorry to hear that. It's so hard when they are born with lots of birth defects.

  • I love guinea pigs! I have 2 of my own. My first pig gave birth about 3 months ago to 2 babies and one was all white. I was scared that it was albino but I did some research and there was nothing wrong with my little boy! He was the cutest thing I ever saw with blue eyes and bright white fur! I miss my babies! I gave them to a friend and she loves them!

  • Hey Jennybean, albino guinea pigs normally don't have problems, it's if they are a "lethal" - all white, with "smaller" albino eyes than normal that indicates that it is a "lethal" [born with a ton of birth defects that will cause it to die young.] I'm so happy that yours are fine and are in good homes.!!!

  • i just lost a little piggy about four days ago and i miss him soooooooooooo much i nearly hit the floor when i found out he had died. i got him at pet smart and rushed him back a week later and i meen rushed because he started convulsing and it terrified me beyond belief, he ened up dieing at pet smart and i went up there to say my final good byes he was already dead when i got ther. but anyways i got me another piggie and this ones name is scooter my first one was snickers.

  • Hi Dale197922, Scooter is a very lucky guinea pig to have an owner like you who cares so much.

  • he is and he is doing very well i have done everything i can do for him and he is as happy as can be i love him so much he is just like snickers (the piggy that died). and i love to hold him and he is so cute.

  • Hey dale107922, I'm really glad to hear that!!!!!

  • Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die.

  • That is sooo true!!! We did check out the shelters and there were no guinea pigs to be found. We regularly rescue guinea pigs from shelters. We let our guinea pigs breed this one time because our cat of 18 years had died in the summer and letting the piggies have babies was our Xmas present to ourselves in Ringo the cat's memory.

  • amazing so sweet its been a while since this vid was put up how is the lil white one did it make it? i sure hope so i have a beautiful lil cavy tricolored and i love her more than ever guinea pigs are amaziing animals that can give much joy

  • We had a piggie live about 11 years.

  • wow that is real lucky mine will be 6 in a week and i hope she stays with me for as long as urs did

  • I wish they could live even longer!!

  • you are very lucky to have had a piggie friend for soo long. I envy you.

  • Hi i was wondering what a roan pig is and how can you tell if your pig is one?

  • if it has solid color patches with a few white hairs interdispersed in the solid color patch, then it carries the roan gene. the roan gene is a defective gene. If 2 roans mate and one of the babies gets both of these defective genes, then the baby is a lethal because the birth defects from these 2 roan genes cause birth defects.they are usually blind, don't have teeth, have digestive problems, etc.We couldn't get Angel to eat the special food he needed so we had to put him down.

  • Oh thanks for that imformation, i think one of my pigs might carry it. She has black patches around her face with bits of white in.

  • aww im sry about that loss he was so beautiful i didnt see this till after i posted my comment about if he was still alive my guinea pig is named angel to =) she will be 6 in about a week and im sure ur angel is at peace

  • So am I. We buried her in our backyard so he would still be near.

  • yeah mine actually passed on may 1st she is in our backyard i thought of having her cremated but decided to do it the way u usually do they will both live on in our hearts forever <3

  • Hi animalfanatic19, we still think of Angel. I'm glad I made these vids of him so that other's can learn about why you should never mate "roan" or dalmation guinea pigs with other roan or dalmation guinea pigs.

  • yeah breeding choices always play a big part i believe my first guinea pig ever... diamond died due to too much careless inbreeding... we got her at Petco not knowing the dangers of getting pets at pet stores instead of shelters.

  • hey animalfanatic19, we "save" as many piggies as we can .

  • yeah we got our last 2 cavies at the SPCA best damn fluffy and squishy lil things i could ever ask for <3

  • I was suprized that a couple of the times we went to the SPCA to adopt a guinea pig, there weren't any around . Maybe that 's a good sign.

  • yeah i think so =)

  • poor guinea pig oh well make sure you do lvoe her forever!

  • My landlord made me get rid of my guinea pig and I miss her every day... I hate myself for doing that.

  • HI fire14air14, Yeah, I know how hard that is. I'll bet you found her a really nice home and she thinks of you.

  • Hi fire14air14, that must have been hard. Maybe some time in the future you will be able to have one again.

  • Aww. :( That's sad about the white one. I had 4 guinea pigs, but they died years ago. One died of pneumonia, one stopped eating and her teeth grew to long (we finally got them trimmed, but it was too late) and died of Vit. C deficincy. The other two were only a few monthes old and died from stomach twisting (they ate unedible items like carpet, plastic, and foam. We tried to get them to stop but they thought it was good).

  • Hi DrSeussThing1, Yeah, it is always so hard to lose a guinea pig. They are just so sweet and innocent. We've had guinea pigs for the past 12 years[ we've been through 4 and now we have the current 5.]

  • How long has your oldest one lived? I have one that's outlived both of his companions; we've had him for 6 years now and he's still active and in decently good health. The female Peruvian silky died of an infection several years ago and the red coated abyssian (also female) died last year.

  • Mortimer the black male abyssinian is 3 years old. Our first guinea pig,Prince - abyssinian lived 8 years. The babies are interesting becaues the tortiseshell baby has a long hair gene but only for the hair on his backend!!

  • oh cool ^.^

  • glad you enjoyed it.

  • 8 years? That's a pretty long life! The oldest guinea-pig I've know has lived to be 7 years ^^;

  • must have been all the love and dandelion leaves!LOL!!!

  • you have loveley guinea pigs

  • Hi bill1465, we kept them all, although I always think of little Angel.

  • Lethal guinea pigs are ususally all white but not albino. They are more rounded in shape than normal baby guinea pigs. They don't live long, have digestive problems, are totally or partially blind, and their teeth don't grow in properly. The teeth [if they have them] have to be trimmed under anaesthetic every 3 months. Always make sure your guinea pigs aren't roans if you decide to mate them. YOu don't want to learn the hard way like we did.

  • Our all white baby guinea pig, Angel was a "Lethal" guinea pig. That means that both parents are "roans" which you should never mate because roans carry a defective gene called lethal. Because of that Angel was partially blind, had no upper molars so he couldn't eat solids. We tried as hard as we could to hand feed him with Critical Care food after he was weaned, but he fought us all the time and was just so miserable. It broke me heart to put him down.He is buried in our backyard.

  • i love that white guinea pig =) looks exactly like a baby i had that had a twisted paw at birth, but later it untwisted.

  • Hi Micochong004. His name was Angel. Unfortunately, he was a baby "lethal". If you get an all white baby guinea pig that isn't albino, then it usually is a "lethal". Because both parents are "roans", they each carried a defective gene, so Angel inherited both "lethal genes". The other 3 babies are ok, but carry one of the Lethal gene.
