Can someone explain to me why the house seems to collapse and all thos children. I have read the screen play and it didn't involve any of this.

Looks like an enormous set in an enormous theatre. I really want to go see it.

Yes it is Bernard Herrmanns Vertigo score from the nightmare, this is used at the beginning but has additional scoring and the love scene from Vertigo is used later on but all the other music within the piece was composed by Stephen Warbeck.
