  • Wrestling...right...

  • Awesome video, wish we could see more of the fight itself.

  • People are so soft these days. You will watch a boxing or a wrestling match but cry over dogs WRESTLING....not biting each other but WRESTLING. Go pick flowers and share your feelings.

  • @TheWavy87 =P

  • a pibull wouldn't stand a chance

  • @joustbox he never did

  • it's still fucking stupid

  • What type of calculator was this filmed with?

  • I've went to the Tosa Ken Center many times during my visit to Kochi, and the ones that you see roaming in this video is nothing compared to the ones that they keep locked up.

  • Thats Hisano... .Sorry for the spelling.. Thats Nobahmanos himanos dog .. His the Yakosa boss. You can get more info on " DOGS on A&E" channel. thats were I got the info from... wow many years ago that show was aired I think in th 90's. But yes it talks about the Tosas. Different rules and dogs and types of fighting stles than the normal pit breeds we know of here in the USA.

  • That dog looks scared shitless,as it's being forced out o the car. Poor thing.

What happened to Japan respecting nature?

  • a pitbull would own a Tosa. u must not have realized they were talking about tosas vs pitbulls.

  • @BlackBird10111

Hi with respect this 'it's not the dog but the owner' is total rubbish. Dogs are sentient beings that make their own choices. If one decides to attack, it will.

    FACT

  • this dog would rip a pit bull in 2... they have the same crazy mentality when they are wound up, and they are much bigger... totally insane

  • Barbaric? Yes, however, dog fighting is done in remote areas of Japan because areas there have it banned. I hate dog fighting very much, however, this is part of Japanese culture. Stuff that's American culture could be viewed similarly over in Japan.

  • theyshould do this in america put down some rules a time limit really make it a sport the dogs would benefit as well aswell the ppl that the only way truly stop underground dog fighting

  • @ewkilla1230

Original dog men had rules, and their dogs did not fight to the death. It's punk street kids that made it the blood sport that it is today.

I don;t condone it then, and I don;t condone it now. But I respect old dog men, cause they gave us pit bulls.

  • @gacktfan Well said my friend. Its the non Dog men who know nothing of the sport, the tradition, the heritage and culture of animal combat with rules and honor. !!

  • @00misspanda00 Tosas are DEAD serious dogs, they are bred to show no emotion in the ring, much like the Japanese themselves

  • just read the description thanks for the upload

  • i always thought the japanese akita inu was japans national treasure

  • a 50lbs pit bull will whip a 200lbs tosa in 5 minutes.

  • Not true....

Becouse If that was true , A chihuahua of 10 lbs can defeat a Pit bull of 50 lb

  • Actually a tosa will defeat a pit handily. Pits are a generic breed.

  • @TheOmatron Yeah, but a very nice, super gamey actual american bull terrier will give a nice hot Tosa a run for it's money, you can believe that

  • @frozenmouse76

    dream on funny boy

  • @frozenmouse76 thanks for enlighting me chav

  • so the rules are: dogs aren't allowed to show aggression, if they bite, or refuse to fight, they are disqualified.

Now I have 3 dogs at home that fight all the time with each other, Play fighting, now if I don't see how this can be more dangerous than my dogs at home play fighting..

how can they die if there is no bite marks?

  • these fights are barbaric and often to the death the tosa has been selectivly bred to fight silently . they are still being very aggressive and very much biting each other.

  • You are VERY wrong....if a dog growls it is disqualified...the fight rules are similar to Sumo and NEVER result in the death of the dog. It's basically dog wrestling. It is amazing how well trained these dogs are and the owners take great pride in their pets.

  • @frozenmouse76 they NEVER end in death. And no, they're looking for a hold. Once they both lock onto each other, it all comes down to who submits first. then the fight is ended.

  • @hustleinthehouse They don't die, moron. It's basically a wrestling match, the jaws are used merely as a stabilizer.

  • @hustleinthehouse tieredness and weakness if they get too tired they have to keep defending themselves leading too many death!!

  • @hustleinthehouse the difference is these dogs aren't playing they are fighting! the japanese have the right idea though, the rules and time limit make more like a sport, do bad we can't do something like this in america...

  • Zlatchi...They only time these dogs give up is because they are seriously injured and in-capable of fighting back. Dog fighting is barbaric and in-humane. The people that organize these fights are nothing but selfish people who are gambling addicts & do not give a tuff about the dogs being injured and killed. This is a tragedy. Dogs are the most loving & loyal animals towards humans on this planet. And therfore should be loved & cared for in return...not forced to fight!

  • Zlatchi you said..."For those who think this is animal abuse it isn't, it more of wrestling than fighting as there are the rules. Dogs fight in a fenced ring until one dog barks, yelps or loses the will to fight and is therefore a loser.."

    1. This is not wrestling..its fighting!

2.Tosa's DO NOT bark or yelp in a fight. They are trained not to make noise. Neither do pitbulls yelp or bark in a fight.

These dogs fight to the death! They dont loose the will or give up!

    3. dogfighting is discraceful

  • Blue Pauls are not extinct.

  • whats a blue paul?

  • Tosas are considered the strongest dog in the world pound for pound.

  • The Blue Paul is extinct

  • Comment removed

  • Best game dog......Blue Paul's . Very, very hard to find. They look very much like the Staffrord Bully.

  • whats a blue paul?

  • very very hard to find, seeing they are extinct as far as we know

  • U so freaky funny and of course wrong))

  • Pound for pound the pit bull this the best fighting. However Pitbull vs Tosa ? The tosa would win do to his size.

  • Size a bite

  • wtf that doesnt make sense. then how the fuck is the pit p4p the best game dog?

  • if a tosa had been trained to fight the same way a pit was, the tosa would win hands down. if an untrained tosa and an untrained pit got into a dogfight, the tosa would win hands down.

  • it doesnt men pitt would win, tosa inu can beat pit acctualy there was i video clip on the net tosa vs pit and tosa beat him with no trouble at all!!!!

  • So this isn't very much different from a formalized version of dogplay anyways then?

    But 30 minutes though?

Isn't that quite a long time?

  • Im very confused, do the dogs actually bite each other or not? what are the rules of this 'sport'??

  • Yes they bite.

    Rules are:

    30 min. fights

    No barking

  • thanks, tho that makes me lose alot of respect for the japanese.....

how is the winner decided if both still alive after 30 mins??

  • First; the dogs never fight to death.

If no dog gives up before the 30-minute-mark, the dog with more "points" win. Just like any organized human fight, like boxing etc.

The dogs fight 2-3 times a year.

  • thanks again, how are points scored etc? on aggresson/damage?

and how dose the dog 'give up'?

  • It doesn't fight back.

  • In the fights I saw & videoed at the Museum in Kochi, the "biting" was maining "gripping" the ruff of the neck. (See the models in the preceding museume tour---the only biting that is shown is that gripping). When the dogs would get into something else, they were pulled apart. One fight was stopped within seconds -- and the offending dog taken off -- when one dog roared in and grabbed the upper back thigh of the other, clearly a violation of the rules and spirit of the fights as conducted there.

  • if the dog shows submission or whimpers they stop the fight and that dog loses so its a far cry from the western version where the dogs just have a time limit and r free to kill eachother but still...

  • I'm probably mistaken, but I thought there was no biting allowed? The dog had to force the other in to submission, but not through biting.

  • They do ofcourse bite.

  • they bite

even these dogs are given same respect as that of a sumo champ
