Our marching band plays this every football game! This is so slow compared to how we play it... we just get too excited and we end up playing it twice as fast.
So, I'm 13 and this song is fucking Great! I remember hearing it when I was 5 in my car with my sisters. If only I hadn't been born in 1997, I would of grown up when music was ALOT better. Music these days is shit, and I Know that. <3
haha, does anyone see "MTV" logo up there in the upper right corner? Great song, miss the old days when MTV when it was music television instead of maternal television.
@kiltedsavage No you're not because I grew up listening to ska. I've never seen either of those movies and wouldn't mention them even if I did. @DrDoomDDS Well, I was probably 6 when I saw the digimon movie and loved this song and All My Best Friends Are Metalheads. The Bosstones and Less Than Jake are my 2 favorite bands, 11 years later. And that's what got me into ska music in the first place.
@DrDoomDDS i am i found the song when i was little but i forgot it because i was a little kid. about 10 years ago i found ska and it has grown on me slowly into the main music i listen to because it is awesome. i love the bosstones and i have heard all their albums and they kick ass.

Thumbs up if before reading this comment, you had no idea that Ska originated in Jamaica. What's with these skinhead related comments? skinheads should go to Jamaica and see how many of their brothers they find.
@EmoDragonfly You do realize that British punk, Sex Pistols etc..., came after the Ramones. Hell, even Bands like Black Flag were in the process of forming when Johnny Rotten and company were being put together by a record label.
It was old school punk rock that originated from England, and then CBGBs that created the whole skinhead punk shit. Get your facts straight. Christ, people fight over the STUPIDEST mundane shit.
@Skalife33 Ska man influences are a tough one to say with certainty. While reggae or Jazz influences might be there in some bands, I always considered Ska to be that happy middle between Euro pop of the 60's (The Tornados ans such) and Britt Punk.
It was an odd time because until the Punk wave, you could actually say that American Rock and Jazz were much more adventurous than the Brits. The Brits stepped up with the British invasion bands (The Who, Stones) but overran Ska also.
@Skalife33 not to insult or start an arguement i just wanna ask if ska came from reggae or reggae came from ska?i alwys thought that ska was the combination of american rock and afr.american jazz hence the black and white checkered flags??
@gabbomushy Reggae came from Ska, Ska came from Rocksteady, Rocksteady came from early American R&B records that the Jamaincan DJs and musicians got hold of.
The checkers came from the 2 tone ska movement that happened in the 80s and emphasized racial unity (at first thats what it was supposed to symbolize)
@Skalife33 not to insult or start an arguement i just wanna ask if ska came from reggae or reggae came from ska?i alwys thought that ska was the combination of american rock and afr.american jazz hence the black and white checkered flags??
Well, apparently you can. Guess you never bothered to check out their other songs. They have a crap ton of albums, each as great as the last, including a recent one, 2009 I believe, called "Pin Points and Gin Joints." These guys defined third wave ska.
The Onion did a report on the day ska bands outnumbered ska fans.
Cracked me up.

Dude I saw them in concert in 98 and got my ass kicked in the mosh pit and then thrown off stage by the singer when I jumped up there!!!
Great show. Dropkick Murphys, Amazing Royal Crowns, Bim Ska La Bim, and Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Christ, people fight over the STUPIDEST mundane shit.

why would ska have a skinhead image? its influenced by reggae
cundionfire 1 year ago
@cundionfire Nah, reggae influenced off ska. Ska came before reggae. Ska influenced from jazz.

@Skalife33 not to insult or start an arguement i just wanna ask if ska came from reggae or reggae came from ska?i alwys thought that ska was the combination of american rock and afr.american jazz hence the black and white checkered flags??
gabbomushy 1 year ago
@gabbomushy Reggae came from Ska, Ska came from Rocksteady, Rocksteady came from early American R&B records that the Jamaincan DJs and musicians got hold of.
The checkers came from the 2 tone ska movement that happened in the 80s and emphasized racial unity (at first thats what it was supposed to symbolize)

wait, why are you guys raging over a song I am not getting any of this.

Ska is not skinhead and skinhead is not ska. Ska is music of togetherness, not hatred. Like this if you love it, and love it if you like it.

can anyone say "one hit wonder" ?
lordOFbrooklyn 1 year ago
@lordOFbrooklyn
Well, apparently you can. Guess you never bothered to check out their other songs. They have a crap ton of albums, each as great as the last, including a recent one, 2009 I believe, called "Pin Points and Gin Joints." These guys defined third wave ska.
