I was looking for songs by the French grindcore band of the same name, and I accidentally ended up here. Not complaining though, this is actually a pretty awesome song. Great song! Nice bass groove especially!
Going to see The Blockheads over the late May bank holiday at Strummercamp festival in Manchester, check out the Strummercamp website and have a look at what has got to be the years best festival line up.
Great to see that these guys are as good as ever. Ian would be proud. Derek the draw is the perfect choice to carry his torch, although you could never really replace Ian Dury. He was a genius.
Wicked Pissah! Really miss Ian loads, but these lads Rock! Great video for the times. Screw the bankers those flippin load of wankers. Like the song says "the fuse is lit" The Blockheads are back on top and rightfully so. Congrats to all you great musicians!! Great to have you back!
Chanced on this on the radio. Assumed it was Ian singing a track that had somehow passed me by when he was alive. Very similar accent and semi-spoken delivery style. Cool, rather scary looking bloke! Great song, one of the funkiest I've ever heard. Great lyrics as well. Wasn't aware of the Blockheads' politics before this!
This is great. It's a funny one cos nobody could ever replace Ian...but The Blockheads have the right to be a band in their qwn right. Great stuff though...brilliant
Not bad at all- haven't really followed since Ian left us. Still love the way the bass rolls around. Also i reckon Derek The Draw is the first man to come close to filling Ian's bloody big boots. Am going to pick up the CD ASAP
Just having my first listen to Staring Down the Barrel. Greed is just one of 10 great new songs. Looking forward to 2nd May when I see them live (again) at the Palace Theatre. Thanks Guys - Blockheads 4ever!
Gaw'd elp us geezers!!..They're Back....Derek Hussey's the man!! ...but Norman watt-roys the top bassist ever...oh sorry n the bands tight as a ducks!!...see ya at some gig or another
Saw them again, 8th April, Roses Theatre, Tewksbury. Blockheads are totally tight! I love Dylan & Norman! They really nail down the rhythm section! A really great bunch, always have time for their fans. New album has thoughtful and perceptive lyrics, (ahead of their time!) Just listen to the first two tracks and you'll realise why they're one of the consistently best bands around. Not Convinced? SEE THEM LIVE!
Hope your confectionery 'Bust' doesn't blemish your career Chaz! Tee Hee
ian's musicians have always left gob smacked. fantastic musicians. so glad they have gone on to do this. well done to the bloke with the toughest job to do. im sure it's been done with honour and pride.

Nice song. There is another video on youtube that shows the political impact of greed for us all: Peter Martell "Master of Greed". Great lyrics.
