what is a democracy and what this system we are under called?we live in a democracy and a million are dead in iraq ,so what democracy if 51% are dead wrong against the other 49% who are right ...there might be someone swayed to balance it or sway enough to tip it ,but what if 90% of the people are dead wrong ,and the other 10% are totally correct ,and the issue was to choose to use a nuke ,do you think the 10% who are right will persuade enough to stop it,democracy is NOT freedom of choice
dont get the troops out its what they are paid for , they are hired assassins. and as long as order hasnt come to countries where people are slaughtering each other over some mythical religious text then fuck em,
Perhaps it would be more effective at this point to quit with the "anti" movement, moving toward a pro-peace movement, instead? You cannot fight war to end war. But you can promote peaceable ideology through peaceable projects, actions and gatherings. Nobody wants to hear you scream or complain anymore - that's why people are tuning you out. Pro-Peace, not Anti-War - that's your ticket to success.
thanks for the video, very sad to see all the suffering, especially to the children as a result of the terrorists, the jihadis truley are evil, luckily there are brave men who will protect the innocent life and freedom and fight and kill the terrorists in their own backyards. God Bless America!! God Bless the UK!!
What's next? Well we need a step by step plan don't we. One of those steps: campaigning to abolish the Veto at the UN. The veto is anti-democratic and allows the 5 nations who hold them plus their friends to get away with murder. Dictators have Vetoes. Now there is a name for a website!
Brian is right. Renew the STWC. Make it a one stop shop for anyone intrested in peace and truth whilst highlighting the wars, lies & hypocrisy.
this is amazing this video, i have seen hundreds of these but this is the first one i could say is truly PEACE MOVEMENT - as distinct from "anti-war movement"
yeah right on 'possibly steve'! I think you'll find that that is Daisy Kelly-Granger herself singing away... What a brilliant bit of film! I mean the whole thing, not just the bit of me!!
The peace movement maybe exhausted. In Montreal before the war we were more then 200000 people saying no to war now last month we were a few hundred. Not because people suddenly started supporting the war but because people felt there is nothing to do about it. This war in so many ways was a huge setback for democracy and waged in the name of democracy. Check my video response and join in the gaia4love project on youtube myspace and facebook. Just make a search for groups gaia4love.
God bless all of those people who see the connection between Nazi Germany, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Pleeeeze speak out, and drag your friends, neighbors, everybody you know to the polls to vote against the warmongers, and unite with every anti war group (that has no hidden agenda, of course). Please.
I was at this protest, and it actually dispersed completely by 5pm. 5pm! If we are going to march, we need to march constantly, otherwise it is a mere slight inconvenience to the fascists in charge of their police state. Why wait until the summer? Thousands will die by then. We need to change it all, and change it all we need to do now.
Pacifism against terrorism is never good enough. We need to start using more meaningful methods to get these torrorists like Brown & Cameron out of power.
The people who we are "protesting to" do not care about what people think - they only care about money ...so it would seem
So what's next??
Lets be positive and spread our good intentions far and wide...you know of course that if we spread a positive bubble across the world..it could have a really profound effect :)
and of course if the official figures of 1 million dead iraq's is correct - by my maths - taking an average football staduim of 50,000 people - that would be the equivolent of lining the people from 20 such stadiums up and killing them
if that happened in london - would people have something to say about it then?
The United Nations is what creates the wars, but I understand the sentiment some express when they say to build it. Bless them, it is a nice idea, but we've been snookered.
Learn to burn water, it can be done, and then work on retooling our economies to be oil-nondependent.
Matter of fact, most of the textiles created from oil can be replaced by other things.
any war means money to the central banks who create the war so as to loan the money to finance the war. from ww1 to the presnt in iraq,, all of which are private banks that create the money out of thin air but allways repaid with interest hence they never lose
World Revolution man.We need it NOW.Majority of the world is against this war.We need to make CLEAR to the Government in the US and England, that they need to make these leaders accountable for their war crimes.People in the Corporate media need to get a backbone and stand up to what is right.Stop insulting the people intelligence.
You're right. Records show many of them came to the US. Now that infection has come to the surface. The Nazi's are giving it another try. The b*stards.
I would guess it would be what Gandhi taught -- RESISTANCE. NON-COOPERATION with evil. Like he said, "They may have my dead body, but they will not have my dignity".
Personal commendations to Brian for this production, but also to the independent media team created and whose work is effectivised through this video being available over the web to a global audience within days of the London demonstration. The BBC having been castrated by the Blair Government for having dared tell the truth, Channel 4 is commended for presenting realities contrary to government propaganda, with some vids from their Iraq anniversary season available via a search on veohdotcom

Why are we even bothering to protest?

hey paul try sending some good vibes to the 650,000 dead Iraqi civilians firebombed and shot with your tax dollar bullets, have a nice day

agreed that would not help
and of course if the official figures of 1 million dead iraq's is correct - by my maths - taking an average football staduim of 50,000 people - that would be the equivolent of lining the people from 20 such stadiums up and killing them

my point was - what do we do about it next?
protesting has a limited effect
?
in peace

So very right these protests are so necessary
but not sufficent. What is the next step?
The voices are loud and strong in number but
nothing is making any difference.
