I think the club was called "gabbies" it was just a bar. 29 stumps is approx 170 miles from Vegas and 150 from LA so you had to have a car if you wanted to get out I remember the weekends that base was a total ghost town. I guess not much has changed. 1986-1991 right there in 29 palms

1986-1991 1st bn 4th marines and 3rd bn 7th marines MCAGCC. nickel beer at the 29 stumps!!! bull and spear was down hwy 62 in Yucca valley there was another club right across the Hwy can't recall the name. Lots of time there remember "prairie fire" "the brain" drinks were popular back then

I was stationed at the Stumps from May to Aug 79 for Comm School. Chicken On The Run and the ham and cheese sammiches at the Bowling Alley were the bomb back in those days! :)
