Now I know why the amiga version got bad reviews. The graphics are not well rendered at all. The sound though is quite good. Gameplay I can see is indeed slow.
@cartoonfan1920s This is why Sierra was disliked by Amiga gamers. Sierra did nothing to clean up the graphics of their later VGA games when porting them to the Amiga. At the time, the Amiga could display as many colors as VGA (if not more) but Sierra chose to release their games this way. I remember reading Amiga magazines that bashed Sierra for being 'lazy' and for trying to make the Amiga computer look terrible next to VGA PC platforms. (More)
The Amiga could display 4,096 on-screen at once using HAM (Hold and Modify). However, this mode was too slow and not perfect for games. However, if you look at some of the Amiga's better games, you can see how programmers found ways to display far more colors on screen than 64. Sierra just didn't give a shit.
@ClassicVideoGamerMag Same thing goes for all game consoles/computers. Palette swapping is no big deal if a game developer cares. IE SEGA GENESIS: Alien Soldier or Dynamite Heady or Gunstar Heroes for SEGA made by TREASURE, looks amazing, as most their games do. Compare LIGHT CRUSADER to LANDSTALKER on Genesis and you see that Landstalker has significantly less colors on screen because they used a single palette for the whole game, there is probably 15 colors on screen at once on screen.

Would be glad if a longplay of the Space Quest 1 remake for the Amiga is done.
