I started singing when I was a child, and how you feel and what you are thinking is just as important as every other aspect of singing, and it always annoyed me that it has been so ignored and I saw your site, and can see you incorporate this in a defined way and I just think you are awesome! You're a hero to make this important!! I learned this on my own over years of studying as a kid, and wish I knew you then!!! Ciao, Donna
One of the great thing about the feedback you give to the contestant that you are very specific. You do not make broad and blurry statements. Thank you for being specific while giving feedback.
I'm so glad you didn't cut off this video like a previous one, I was really really turned off by that. Keep doing this and advertising your products at the end, because you got me interested!
Thanks so much for doing this, I'm going to audition for american idol next season and I'm training really hard!!
Note that the vocabulary she uses includes tons of technical and physiological terms, but she still makes her message clear and easy to absorb. This clearly indicates her years of research and experience in the singing industry.
Most vocal instructors of her status here in Hollywood rely on hype, paid endorsements, and trick stunts to build their reputation.
Hey guys thanks for the feedback! We've got more videos talking about more of the contestants and more constructive tips, so keep checking back here or on my website at dotsvoicestudios! Site should be functioning better today... we had some technical server difficulties on Thursday which delayed us in getting more videos up. We also have "Dot's Idol notes" from the show being posted on the site as well, so stay tuned Idol Maniacs!
I agree! i personally know Jamar Rogers for about a while now and i was a little offended when they said he was over the top and animated because if you knew Jamar....that's really Jamar...he didn't jazz it up or try to hard for the audition he was just himself! but he was one of the best and so was Daniel Gokey! my two brothers!!!!
I would like to see more of her performing live before I say too much... Smart song choice. Checked out some of her recorded material...she is developing her own style... I hate to comment on pre-recorded stuff cuz I don't know how old it is, but keep on singing and vocalizing! More notes on my site.
Wow! I actually learned a lot from this video! I am totally coming to you for my vocal coach! I learned more from this video then I have ever learned I feel from my previous vocal coaches. Usually it was just boring old warm up drills and running through a song. I always wanted to know more about how the voice worked and what it did when you were doing something wrong. With this video know understand how my voice works in a whole new light. I liked what you had to say about grounding too! COOl!
wow that larynx position thing was interesting i thought like when u do "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" a weeeeee that part it jumps up and vanishes on ya
