At 0:35 you need to do it fast with power because you are grabbing under the ribs and pulling them out. So speed and strength are key.

Classical form dictates the speed of this movement for performance as "slow". For application though appropriation is obviously key.

@LeComte13 well thats the thing with bunkai. Its obvious and henkai has hidden techniques. That open hand jodan and chuto movement can be thought of as blocking and striking pre-emptively. the reaching movement can be a rib grab and snatch, testicle grab and snatch, in my studies we've found a way to use that motion as a take down where the reaching hand grabs behind the thigh and the hand you block with pushes your opponent down. Karatedo has so much inside it man.

I completely agree with you about the deepness of karate, as long as we speak about Okinawan traditional karate.

I mean, there are also lots of hidden movements in sport-karate katas, but what's the sense in that? No actual effective bunkai is praciced. The sense is lost.

Whoever is complaining about his breathing must have a bad sound card. This is an impressive kanku-dai. Luca Valdesi worshipers might not like it, but I think when you're doing kata you should look like your killing somebody. This guy has it.

Actually there are no problems with his stances, they are long enough, Kata has to be practical, any longer and he would not be able to move correctly.

Looks like his mind wandered a little before the side snaps kick, and elbow thrust. Work on the breathing! And the pause intervals are off. Too fast in the begining, and then varied through the end. Speed is your best asset. Weak double jumping front kick, but few people ever do it well. Very good though.
