John to me sounds near dead on this song, but no less passionate, or no less of a genius. If anything, listening to the whole album (SFTSYH) is like looking into the soul of a man who has lost it all and is ready to die, but still oozes genius.

People say this is such a dark album but I hear so much hope and beauty in all of these songs, especially this one. I really wish John would re-release this album

As nice as that would be, he'd probably tarnish something wonderful. A lot of the songs on this record rely heavily on improvisation, and John's even said in the past that he forgets how to play a lot of the songs on Usually Just a T-Shirt.

Not to mention the material including River Phoenix...

ANYWAY, it'd be cool, but only if he managed to sound like he was still in an equal mental hell. That'd be hard to re-create.
