Dude, he clearly kicked it in. He kicked Turco's stick causing it to go in. What's more, he made additional contact with his skate as it was in the crease. Even if you don't want to call it a kick, you can't push the goalie, or any part of his equipment into the net to score a goal.

OK, here is what I see. I see Manny skating and as his skate goes over the blade the puck bounces off of both the stick AND skate. Is that a distinct kicking motion? NO. It;s Manny skating and his skate striking the puck WITH the stick of Turco. To me it looks like all three objects (puck, stick, and skate) meet at the same time. Good old review boards. Do they ever really work?

that was a horrible call. hewas on one foot. it is not possible to create a kicking motion on onw foot. I agree with jfeicht83, they are a joke, and not even a good joke.

this is a good video and it can be clearly seen it was a goal. like u said hopefully that kind of mistake won't matter in playoff run.

Sorry guys, I have to go with the "war-room" on this one. It certainly wasn't intentional. Hell, it wasn't even a kick, but his skate, though accidentally as it slid off of Turco's stick, moved in a distinct kicking "motion" and propelled the puck into the net. The rule doesn't care how or why the motion was created.

That being said, they need to change this rule and allow goals off of skates no matter what. If players have the skill, let them kick it in!

It is absolutely baffling how they could call that a distinct kicking motion. Just baffling.
