Are these the same Majestics that recorded for Chex? I'm actually posting some stuff by them tonight. They're both Detroit groups so I'm assuming they're the same group.
yeah they are, but the lead singer they had on Chex left by the time the got to Motown, he recorded on single with a group called The Freeman Brothers on the soul label
I wouldn't necessarily call this "unreleased". Gordy may have cancelled the release of the record but once a commercially pressed copy (whether it's a promo or a stock copy) has left the company's doors, it's a released record. Same situation with The Masquerade Is Over by Marvin Gaye and For Your Precious Love by The Impressions on Vee-Jay.... They were cancelled by their respective companies but a very small handful got out making them "released" records.
are you playing the CD and just showing a VIP record spin, cuz this sounds to clean! Either way, no one has the original record of "Hello Love" due to it being unreleased. I was told that the Hit Pack were two guys, Robert Staunten and Robert Walker?
beautiful!!! amazing!

MOTOWN'S VIP appeared to get all the records that Motown didn't quite know what to do with-

Just who were the Freeman Brothers anyway? I've got a copy of their "My Baby" on the Soul label, but don't know anything about them.
