Rampage's one and only friend in the whole series. Most likely becuz he himself is considered a freak of nature, so transmutate is one of the few things in existence he can relate to. Rampage really is sorta of a good guy, he was created from Starscream, so he already had a tendency towards darkness, but he eventually became the monster when everyone tried to recycle him as a bad science project, plus megatron is literally crushing his soul, gotta give him SOME sympathy

After the end of season 1, the failed attempt to kill off the transformers by the Aliens had caused the energon to turn into crystals thus it was safe for the transformers to remain in robot form indefintely

and its a partial transmetal, so its still safe from the energon fuck!

Most of the Energon was destroyed by the Vok planet killer/artificial second moon when they tried to sterilize the planet.

But more than that, Transmetals are basically immune to raw Energon in general; they actually absorb the energy given off by it, allowing them to stay in robot mode for, in effect, any amount of time they desire.

Actually, it's Terrosaur who was based on Starscream Note the similar head structure and coloration.

Dinobot is in no way analogous to Starscream apart from a desire to overthrow Megatron - and that's something all Predecons and Decepticons have.

Dinobot is way to honorable and noble to ever be kin to Starcream (and I'm saying this as a FAN of Starscream).

But of course he was then literally crushed to death by ol' Unicron.

You get a lot of character development of Rampage in this episode, which I like. You see him show compassion toward Transmutate as he tries to protect her from both Megatron and the Maximals. You also see how Silverbolt especially assume that he is going to hurt her, which makes me feel sorry for Rampage.
