@goaliemayne33 That is about the dumbest comment you could possibly post. Your 3.0 may have more rated horsepower but it doesn't have 1/5th the torque output. I doubt it could move a fire truck at 30MPH let alone 60 or 70. You also must remember in 1953 this was high tech - overhead cams let alone overhead valves were state of the art. It was designed to run on low octane fuel, be very durable and run no matter what.
@kblackav8or Under the conditions and environment that this engine may run in, the KN filter is quite sufficient.

I think your air filter is a bit small and I wouldn't risk your piece of history on a KN. They really don't filter all that well.
