This game should have been named "Middle Earth Online", it would have opened up new ages, monsters and events... a more interesting game for Tolkein fans and gamers alike.

1) Read "The Hobbit" It tells the story of Bilbo Baggins, Frodo's uncle. 2) Read "The Lord Of The Rings, a series by J.J.R Tolkein, (also the author of "The Hobbit") 3) Watch the LOTR movies, it fiddles around with the plot a little but otherwise very good films. 4) Play LotRO, and enjoy. I would reccomend in that order because then you understand the game alot more. Like reading the WoW Lore on the WoW website. Definaetly worth the few missed hours of play time.

The WoW lore is based on the lore of the previous WarCraft RTS games. I hate it that people see WoW as the first in a series.

Actually, the dwarfs dug too deep, not the servants of the witch-king. The dwarfs of moria, were digging for whatever they were digging for, went to far and found trolls and goblins, then they found the balrog. Balrog trolls and goblins killed all of the dwarfs there, gimli gets pissed off bout this and goes sick on all the goblins, and a troll singlehandedly.

The dwarves were digging for Mithril, also known as "Moria-silver". Moria was the only place in the world where it could be found (with one exception) so of course they went a tad bit too greedy, like dwarves always do. And to their surprise they accidentally awakened one of the last surviving balrogs (possibly even the very last one).

And they didnt "find" the goblins and trolls. They came there after the balrog wiped out the dwarves.

It was the very last Balrog fortuanately, all other Balrog's died out in the war of the second age. This one; Gothmog; appears to be the strongest of the group though.

This one fled deep into the caverns of Moria, it makes me laugh thinking of Gothmog running for days. ^^

I'm pretty sure Gothmog was slain in the First Age. Several of Melkor's servents fled to what Tolkien called the Undeeps and hinted that they still lived down there. Remember, Sauron was Melkor's chief leuitenant and most powerful but not the only. Gothmog was slain by Ecthelion in the First Age in the destruction of Gondolin.

no not all races can play every class, ie dwarfs cant be burgs or captains, hobbits cant be lm's ect. but i dont think it realy takes anything away from the game, its just the developers sticking to the lore. as they have tried to do throughout the game

Gandalf slew the Balrog, yes, but was himself, slain in the process. He was, in essence, a lesser angel, as was the Balrog. They were both Maiar, servants of the Valar, which is why he told Aragorn and the rest to flee. He knew that he alone had a chance of defeating the fallen angel of fire and shadow, and he did, at the cost of his own mortal form.

i think u definitly have to like the play style to enjoy these games, lotro is a amazing game but from an observers perspective it can be hard to see y. id recomend trying out the 10day free trial, but Definitly dont base ur opinions on those first days as the game just keeps geting beter and beter. id also recomend trying out all the clases first, i love champ capt and lm but ur play style may lean towards completly difrent classes

Not attacking anybody and don't play RPGs accept for Fallout 3 on console, but do you (anyone) really feel like you're "really" doing anything when you stand across from an enemy like that and just kind of rinse and repeat?

From an onlooker's perspective it just looks boring and I know you have to play it to get the whole effect, but gosh it just seems so boring..

I mean, can you be tactical like attack limbs or soft spots (not from what I saw)..

not yet but i guess next year in the big expansion you will be able to but mines of moria is about a third of the size of the total regions in game so far it is meant to be huge. Right now its the shire, ered luin (dwarf halls), bree, north downs, lone lands, troll shaws, rivendale, misty mountains, evendim, angmar and forochel so quite alot so far.
