the question said "Do we really want a world without the Amazon Rainforest?" i will say no. SAVE THE AMAZON RAINFOREST. If we have no rainforest in the world. What it will be happened? the answer is not enough oxygen, unhealthy and bad weathers. PLEASE SAVE THE AMAZON RAINFOREST AND ALL OTHERS.

The Amazon is a region that is located among many nations, includding Brazil. The Brazilian Amazon BELONGS TO BRAZIL AND IT IS INSIDE THE BRAZILIAN TERRITORY. Brazil is a SOVEREIGN NATION AND AN ALLY OF THE FREE WORLD. Many non-governmental agencies, specially the ones form England such as Survival International are setting the northern borders to fire.

Brazil is ready to share the wonders of Amazon with the world, "but behind the concept of a Sovereign Nation", that means, WE, the BRAZILIAN PEOPLE are the ONLY ones who can explore, manufacture, determine policies and sell the products from the forest, including tourism and mining operations.

The BRAZILIAN PEOPLE hope that the foreign non-governmental agencies STOP making the propaganda for an international Amazon that will never be accepted by Brazil and its people as well as STOP its illegal operations in the Amazon. There's absolutely no concept such as the one indicating "Indian Nations" inside Brazil, because the whole Brazil is an Indian Nation, based on more than 500 years of history and miscegenation. Brazil is a multiethnic country where most of its population is of mixed race, and that includes, the mixture of White, Black, the Indian and the Oriental peoples, among other ethnics. Therefore the concept of other Indian Nations inside Brazil is totally strange and fake.

What is being questioned in Brazil nowadays is a continuous Indian Reserve called Raposa Serra do Sol (Firefox Mountain Range of Sun), in the State of Roraima, on the BORDERS of this northernmost State of the Federation. The Indians, most of them using computers, wearing jeans and watches are asking for 46% of the land in that State, for only 19,000 or less Indians. How come?

Because Survival International, among other non-governmental agencies that are making illegal policies in Brazil, are pushing the Indians. No one would let this happen in the USA, especially on its borders because the borders are considered a region of Nation Security for all countries. Brazil should certainly create a reserve BUT NOT continuously, not taking 46% of the land and not on the borders of the Brazilian frontier.
