Do you have any interest in Blue Racers? They are native to my state and I think some of the blue coloring is about as neat looking as any venomous snake depending in the specimen. The blue coloring is very unique. I was wondering if they have any relation to venemous snakes...
I wouldn't want to be the next in line to feed these or handle them after you ticked them off. They have nice coloration but I like them when they aren't mad. Just being themselves. Do they fill up with air to keep from being crushed. Or do they deflate longer for the rush of air to scare you away. And if that is so. Why does everything in nature not obey the hissing sounds and instead are attracted to it. I always like the coloration of giboon vipers myself. Just me though.
I looked it up and it was spelled this way. Or my memory is so short that it gone before I can remember it. But remembering when I was a kid and was trying to pronounce it I was pronouncing it different. So when I typed it in I looked at it quizzically and then looked it up. Give my apologies to Darth and Gabby. And tell them they look beautiful. Love their hypnotic patterns. Again apologies.
Will he not drink from a water dish Al? I have noticed you squeeze feed many of your snakes via the bottle, why is it needed I wonder. Cheers & keep the vids coming.
Gorgeous snakes. All your vids are fascinating and informative. I end up pretending my kingsnakes, cornsnakes and hognose are vipers, cobras and mambas after i watch! LOL.
Hey Al ... thanks for putting all these most informative videos up for us all to learn from. I absolutely HATED snakes until your videos made them so interesting to me. I mean I am not going to run out and get a few but I have to watch every one of your videos and there are so many wannabes out there putting out videos who think what they say is law and you know some of it is simply not true. I will continue to get my facts from you. Thanks again!
Always try to make the specimen feel safe but not to the point it compromises your safety.
I will get arounf to do a "Table top" with the Urutu. They are very very HOT and will cause death. They have no sense of humor but are not as flighty as Asper or Atrox.
Oh, Al ! - You are a really talented story book writer. Hollywood should have already connected you less for a consulting job. (Rec.: Better National Geographics orders you for a real truthfuly snake documentary.) The close front shot of Big Green Mamba, very impressive... and this bothrops, so nice. Funny. Puffies are the workers class, hm... ?? - So noisy, not cool at all. Haha... - Thank's ! - JayAr.
Thanks for the additional bothrops vid. It's amazing just how much their heads resemble that of something from the agkistrodon complex. Very pretty snake and great video.
Water cobras ?? - That sounds very interesting. Cobra feeded in pool, maybe. - You'd need an editor for your lot of video material ?? - Waiting for your next publishings... JayAr.
After watching the Mamba drink, would it be possible to train or teach them to drink from a rodent hanging bottle? Just press their snout against the stainless steel ball. It then could be mounted in the cage, and they could get water when they want, and you wouldn't have to have your hand 6 inches from Mamba fangs!
Awesome snakes as usual. I really liked Bothrops Ultranotaus (sp?). The "spade" patterning and colors were fantastic, even if the temper leaves a bit to be desired.
I cannot express enough how much I enjoy your videos. I love snakes, I have three of my own (not hot), but I've always loved hot snakes as well, but can't have any. Your videos are very educational, and I love that you can tell how much you respect and love them and what you do. Thank you for sharing, I hope there will be plenty more to come.
How are little red and the naja naja doing? Raj I think you were calling him? I love the different animals' personalities like Gabbby. She seems docile most of the time, but yet she struck at you recently. Your Elapid collection seems to be growing too. It is nice to see a variety of snakes. Thanks for your videos AL.
OMG she is gorgeous!! I love the black trim on her scales. Ma nature sure has a great eye for colors. Congrats on the promising first contact. Wow talk about attitude that night adder has enough for two snakes. Hi to Gabby and Spot.
