@clintmack28 I feel that the selection for Carnival top songs does indeed need an overhaul. Maybe there should be a category for Creative Soca commentary? Some Soca artistes actually do a good job painting an actual storyline in their song with nice full lyrics the whole time. (Like DESTRA!)

Benjai's "Trini" should have placed better as well. When you sit and listen to Benjai's Trini, that song has-in a lot of the old time 1970s Calypso riddim.

The way road march is chosen has to be changed because the radio DJ's always pushin deh ' mudda man' and that is what is chosen by them and not the people to be played on the stage. this song however, is one of the songs that really Mash Up the road Monday & Tuesday.

OMG....i just returned from my first trip to Trinidad (for 2 weeks). I hung out with my buddy who turned me on to soca BIGTIME!!!!! This was one of my favorite songs that they played on the radio, but trust me there were plenty others. Just wanted to shout out Imij and thank them for such a great tune that won over another fan to Trini culture. I just wish that i could have stayed for Carnival. I had the best time!!!!
