This just enhances my regretts of not seeing this band live, the closest I will ever get was when the 2 guitarists from the oils joined cold chisel for a song at the chisel concert last week at Brissy, it was brilliant.
@yaelwass I have always thought the same thing, had a dance with pete a bit of a sing and left the stage, not too many bands would allow that either, it's a classic moment.
I thank Midnight Oil for giving me the base of political thinking...,I was 13 when I heard a report about them in the radio, and I started immediately to change my musictaste into their direction (New Model Army, U2....and so on)
The Oils and promoters must have spent a shiit load on the acoustics. Just to make this concert sound as good as it is. These dudes have pride in their performances. Good on the Oils for not removing this from tha tube. Goes to show its not all about money.
@71hazy Man that's what they sounded like, every time. I saw 'em maybe 12 times, just like that, no matter what venue. Kooyong was fucking staggering.
yeah!!!, im from Argentina and I saw Midnight alive in 1993 in my country, they are one of the best bands in the world playing alive. Powerfull. Aguante Midnight!!!!
His scream on the recorded version is classic. This whole song is like announcing to all the other rock groups in the world: 'you can't catch us!' Another demonstration of rock virtuosity no other band would dare try.
look, its a guy thing, alright? sort of a primitive male bonding ritual - plus, getting anywhere near Garrett when he's in full flight is just too dangerous for women and children. But I saw him dancing with girls in the front row, when he jumped off the stage
Had this recorded from Night Flight or something like that on VHS years ago. This live version kicks all manner of ass.

Great guest appearance from the audience. Adds to the performance and doesn't overstay his welcome on stage.

Fucking awesome performance. I remember the Goat Island concert well. To this day I wish I'd been invited.

The Oils always had great bassplayers but my fave is Peter Gifford. Surely one of the best from the era, very tasty bass lines!

@parksy010101 Would it be too much to ask Peter Garrett to dance with a GIRL on stage for once? ;)

@dmcguire70 I'm lucky enough to say I reckon every Oils gig I saw was as powerful as this. Absolutely blew me away every time.
