Incredible atmosphere here. This movie is gonna be remembered for decades, it's one in a million if you compare it to others made after 2000. Michael Mann made sure these actors are not forgotten..What a director he is, Heat & Miami Vice under his belt.

The reason why this movie was a disappointment wasn't the actors or story line it was there was no connection with Sonny or Rico. They were just 2 cops goin after bad guys. That's one of the things that made the TV pilot so good, was you got the background of both the characters and connected. This movie didn't have that. I think Mann tried to satisfy everybody and ended up dissapponiting everybody. I liked this movie for what it was worth if it stood alone.

What I really liked in this movie was that it's a mix of retro and modern cues, combined in a well balanced mix... It's really a "Miami Vice 2006" movie, with a sort of personality, not just a movie that wanted to be similar to the TV series and propose the next '80s scenario.

Colin Farrell was no Sonny Crockett, I would have preferred Don Johnson but he was too old.

Jamie Fox was no Ricardo Tubbs, again I would have preferred Philip Michael Thomas but again he was too old.

And where was Edward James Olmos as Lieutenant Martin Castillo but again too old.

The best was Naomie Harris and Li Gong.

If there is a sequel I hope it has a better cast.
