  • Its easy to get 1000hp out off 1.8 liter engine. Its different thing, if it lasts as long as W16 with 1000hp. I mean if you tune your 1.8l to make 1000hp, u would have to fix it every 30mins. As an example.

  • its not all about horsepower, its about the mix of horsepower and torque. The weight of the car also impacts upon how quick its pickup is and how fast it ultimately can go. Going fast doesn't always come down to who has the highest hp....

  • @soccerplaya2300r Right... just for fun compare a boosted Civic to a Dodge Viper. You could MAYBE stretch that 4 cylinder to 600hp, but could you ever match the torque and still make it drivable? Not to mention that V10 will last over 200k miles, how long do you think that I4 will last with who knows how many bars of boost? Then consider that it will take forever for a compressor that large to spool up... Not knocking on imports but come on, think before you type.

  • @g4ebguy Yes they will. And I'm talking about getting a 4 cylinder to hit the power levels the V10 will put out; I happen to love the 2jzgte. Do you know how many lbs of boost it would take to get a B series to hit 600hp? Too many fingers and toes to count. One of the Honda guys I know says the rule of thumb is 1psi=10hp, compensate for other power adders besides forced induction and you can see 30psi+ will be needed, an amount that takes forever to hit. How long do you think that would last?

  • @JesseS420 Yea but I think bigger engines can handle the power better. If you max a 6cyl engine you'll get loads of power out of it but 6cylinders wont be able to handle 1k hp as long as a W16.

  • @JesseS420 You sir are totally correct, Size DO matter but overly large is just plain stupid. But they thing that is really special about 2JZ is that the engine block is made out of cast iron instead of aluminum. Aluminum block are great, they are alot lighter and gives you better fuel economy. But they are no where near as strong as cast iron, Thats why you see alot of supra with stock bottom end pushing 700-800hp and used as daily.
