Im 43 yrs old and when I was only 8 yrs old my Dad introduced me to her and she sat me on her lap and asked me if I was good in school and what I thought of her having a crush on my Daddy...I said "I dont know"...She said "You dont know huh?"...She was the nicest and sweetest lady I ever met and she gave my sister and I two signed promo photos of her...this was 1975 and I remember it like it was yesterday...her perfume..how her eyes looked up close...the sound of her voice and her gentleness.
@dollypartonrocks....Yes indeed!...It's somthing I play over and over in my head again and again because I felt such a connection to her and she treated me and talked to me like I was a person and not just a little kid that everyone patronizes. I hope to meet her again one day!...Thanx 4 the reply...Dolly sure does Rock 2! We just ADORE her as well!
@dollypartonrocks...I'll bet you were smiling at her the whole time cause thats who they point to the most....the people that are the happiest to see them...and I know U wuz girl!!!!...I hope you meet her someday...she says she will be coming to Dollywood durring the opening season this spring again a few times!..Those fan clubs have meet n greets ya know....It's too far from me but I'll bet u'd make it there if u wanted to again!!!!
@MrMedusaLvamp, Well I'm sorry but I'm a guy! Haha! Me, my sister, & my best friend were shouting as loud as we could at her, but I was had a Dolly shirt on and she saw it and then started pointing, I started shakeing and crying it ment a lot to me, I guess because she saw me, I was almost 13 at the time, and I'm fixing to be 15 next month so I plan on goin back to Tennessee in May to her. But I will be heading back to Tennessee next month as well!
i went to loretta lynn's dude ranch this last summer and it was great! I was on a roadtrip and didnt even no once i was in tenesse, i was rite nexrt to the dude ranch. i love her! i love this song + all of the others!
God forbid that anybody fucks in the Disney world. Loretta was really a pioneer in her time...her 1973 hit song "The Pill" was and to this day still banned from many country radio stations. She also wrote pro women's liberation songs like this one; but addressed them to women who were "stuck" in the pre-liberation era.
Did you guys know that Shel Silverstein wrote this song - he's the man who wrote the the Books the Giving Tree & Where the Sidewalk Ends. If you ever read his books and poetry it makes sense. Great clip..
ohh this is brilliant!! luv it luv her

@HHSGDFootballJPD why exactly is this not child-friendly...?
stonerinmanilla 1 year ago
Anyone have a small issue with the fact that there is a Disney Channel Logo for a song that is not really child-friendly?

Why on earth would they edit out a reference to the Pill?
Avatar 2 years ago
Ah....nice of the Disney Channel to do such a smooth edit during the "The Pill" line. Jeez....they butchered it.
