  • That's how i get too.....but with sex, sometimes we go at it from dawn till dusk. i don't take my eyes off her, even when furniture starts to break. Im a Biologist, but its the same basic principle.

  • @fallen4life080 youve never been laid in your life lets be honest

  • @mdavis1992 I'm engaged, of course I have. Just because you're a virgin doesn't mean you gotta make others seem like virgins so you won't feel like a loser. Me importa una mierda que me creas o no.

  • @fallen4life080 yeah you're forever engaged to your right hand and computer screen, its a very give and take relationship, I wish you the best

  • @mdavis1992 Why are you so dedicated to proving me a virgin? if i had said i was a virgin would you have said "no, you've been laid many times lets be honest". i doubt it. i've had sex dude, just believe me. you have no reason not to sp just take my word. its not like im saying im jesus christ but the more you fight me the more i think you're just ashamed of your virginity.

  • Its funny 'cuz it really happens...

  • Which song is this?

  • Which is this song?

  • I hate it when people barge into my room with some menial question or request, destroying my flow. Or, when I'm at work, and one of my co-workers indicates he or she has a question. I take my headphones off and stop what I'm doing, only to learn that the answer could have easily been found with a quick search of the company documentation or Google. Fucking idiots. I have to wonder if these people have ever used their brain to create or perform something worthwhile even once in their lifetimes.

  • @lespaulrentals when the programmers are wired in with headphones are they listening to music? :S

  • @tomocool99

Whatever helps the programmer get in the right mindset. Most of time, yes, they are listening to music.

  • Can someone please explain to me how to get to this state? lol...

  • I want to know whats the name of the songggggg

  • its impossible to be wired in while people are having a party around you

  • some people make being "wired in" sound like being high or like they're joined in holy matrimony with their computer.

idk about any of you who actually write code and aren't just trying to get ur bs liked by everyone but when i'm "wired in", its definitely an extension of my own frustration more than "of my own thought" lol. I dare you to be "one with your computer" when u got logic and syntax errors all over the place. "wired" in is having a deadline and no time to fool around...

  • @andrew2nelson Wake up Andrew Nelson. The best programmers still get syntax errors. Who fooled you?

  • Comment removed

  • @andrew2nelson I set myself up for that one. Anyways, I'm not doubting that you're a good programmer, but making syntax errors is part of human error - to say otherwise is nonsense. What is a "real" programmer anyway? Saying that a real programmer doesn't get syntax errors just sounds like elitist bullshit.

  • @IDIEININIIS I really can't argue with that. Although I do see a lot of people who say they can program perfectly and then they have to look up the syntax for this and that basic thing. And yes, I get syntax errors too, but "when u got logic and syntax errors all over the place" somethings wrong.

  • @tdgstefan

You're wrong. "Wired in" is a state of flow or momentum that one reaches when intensely dedicated to creating something. Engineers get this, writers get this, and programmers get this.

I have to wonder if you are actually a programmer or not. Judging by your comment, it seems like the only times you've ever felt this way are when an external force is determining your ambition. That's a sad state of existence, if the only way you experience this is when someone else makes you work.

  • sometimes it takes many hours to get to this state. and if the flow is broken it can take ages to get back there. that's why a lot of modern programming teams are so sensitive to things that cause interruptions like phones.

  • @chromosundrift Too bad Eduardo didn't seem to care when he got screwed from 30% to 0.03%.

  • @chromosundrift Like being in the zone computer programming! When all else ceases to exist but you and your computer at that moment.

  • Good point this is exactly what they were explaining in the Matrix when Neo finally saw that he could bend the world of the matrix to his will.

When you're "wired in" you have this same feeling about the world inside the code.

You don't see code any more. You feel it as an extension of your own thought.

  • it's a mental state called "flow"

Check out wikipedia on the topic of flow

  • @chromosundrift Thank you!

  • Highend brokers and accounts have to do this plus talk on a cliet on a phone with a noise reduceing mic a and headset so they dont sound like telemarketer in todays office environments.

  • Well how the fuck do you do it? I mean geez. I only WISH I could.

  • 'Wired In' means that you're so concentrated on coding you feel like your part of the computer. Sometimes I even feel like I get elevated from my seat (no, really :)) It's good to have someone who keeps distractions away from you at that moment because that's when you're the most productive. But... it seems like this is explained better in the movie than in this little clip.

  • @Dutchguy1982 This has to be 1982 OR dutch thing... i have the same haha

I reed the lines of code but my mind transforms it to a computer output for me haha

Tjek out my aptly named social network... wiredin.nl for the result

  • @Dutchguy1982 I know how that feels, sometimes when I program I get so absorbed into the code that I ignore everything around me. One day I yelled "shut up!" to the phone ringing while I was coding. I'm really starting to hate phones now, but I've learned. Now I just unplug my phone while I'm coding, problem solved.

Didn't think there was a term for it until I saw The Social Network, and I know exactly how they feel when they say 'wired in'.

  • Being wired in is for sure the best feeling/experience when programming, I'm glad that they coined the term in the movie.

  • I love it! It means to become one with the machine and to interface with it as natively as if it were an extension of your body. Think Neo and Trinity in the Matrix. Dead to the real world, gods in the machine world.

  • Thank you for posting this! (ok, back to coding...)

  • What does it mean to be "wired in" in the context of web server programming? What is Andrew actually doing/coding here?

  • @penguinpxedust THANK YOU FOR ASKING THIS. I just googled this because i was very curious. I consider myself computer savvy and I've even done some web programming but I am clueless on this one. What does "Wired in" mean?

  • @penguinpxedust @SkwerlStyle I assume it just means he's programming, and is "wired in" probably blasting some music and not to bother him for a certain amount of time, in order to not break his concentration so he can be more productive. Personally, I've never heard of the practice, but that's what it seems like.

  • I've got this on repeat!!! LOVE IT! (ok, back to coding...)
