I used to be a christian for 23 years and had bad thought about this, until I was more mature and opened my mind and got tired of going to church. The actual deity Satan is just a bastardized version borrowed from the Horned God of old Paganism, and possibly the greek god Pan. I have an old purple copy of TSR that says "This is the first publication of THE SATANIC RITUALS in any form." It says that it was printed in December, 1972. I have no idea what it's worth. It's just part of my book collection and unless it's worth a whole lot of money I doubt I'll be parting with it.

So, I looked into the meaning of publisher's notations on the publishers info page. You are correct; based on that info, my copy is a 12th edition. My black copy is a 32nd edition. Desmond Morris, Florence King, Eric Hoffer, William A. Henry III). Your books all look store-bought new and not actually read! C'mon, there's nothing there I couldn't buy in a single day from Amazon.

I really didn't like Gilmore's Scriptures, I can't see the resemblance to LaVey, Gilmore is too atheistic and moral. LaVey was heavily inspired by Nietzsche and Epicurus, you can easily see that through his writings, but Gilmore is not like that at all. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that what's your opinion on Gilmore's book?
@VampirePraemium Gilmore's book is a reiteration of what has been said before. LaVey's work provided an example of one Satanist's points of views, and now we have Gilmore's. Not surprisingly, it echos LaVey's, and as the differences you point out demonstrate, is what I would call "watered-down". Still, he is one more Satanist actually doing something, even if I disagree with the direction or extent of his efforts.
