  • Dang that's one thing I don't want to wake up next to.

  • You fed it to the fish which suggests to me that it's toxin is nothing more than a protein that can be digested without harm as long as the digestive tract isn't bleeding.. ?

  • Thanks for making this video, I'm a nudist now.

  • Dude what kind of camera are you using? That is a GREAT vid!

  • The thing about brown recluse spiders is that they look like ordinary brown garden spiders. I know they have the violin mark, but it's sort of hard to see on such a tiny spider. I wish they were more like black widows, which are unmistakable.

  • 1:14 one there brown.......looks blue right there ^_^

  • anybody feel all.....itchy?

  • I was bit a couple of years ago on the hand- a red line started going up my arm- went to the hospital and had intravenous for 2 days! I gotta remember to wear gloves more in the wood shed or the bush

  • you do relize that brown recluses are the second most posionus spider in north america

  • Such a beautiful creature =]

  • FKN love to live in Finland, no douchebag spiders or snakes in here.

  • Holy shit! I dad one of these things crawling on my chest when i was watching tv. I freaked the fuck out

  • Are you serious?? I thought these things were huge bastards. I thought you were going to lift up the t-shirt and there be a HUGE spider under there, but no. That tiny fucker there.

  • @reayadam the venom of that tiny fucker here can slowly eat away & dissolve the skin.. there is no anti-venom so you have to live with the pain til the swelling goes down and is healed enough to stitch it back together..

  • man fuck you bitch, yeah u recluse bitch. fuck you asswhole.

  • So, does squashing it, make it NOT poisonous? Cause uh, that thing would never be fed to MY fish...

  • @HollyWoodDivine It has venom, which is effective if injected, the fish are consuming it which doesn't have a reaction. Poison is consumed more or less to take an effect.

  • I am not even sure just how I ended up your channel, but thank you-there is something so natural and simple and almost sacred in the way you view nature. As a Franciscan Friar, I have always looked at nature as a bit of a misunderstood relative. Anyway-great vids, and please keep posting.

  • those fish are gonna die gaaa

  • love the ending with feeding the bastard to the fish . i feed bugs to my cichlid fish . they love em ! snacks !

  • Got a bite on 2/4/12. It was hiding in my jeans and when I got dressed in the morning it bit me. Within 2 days I had a huge blister, etc. I got in touch with my doctor and in addition to an antibiotic injection I am now on 2000 mg/day of Keflex for the next 17 days. The bite is healing very quickly now. Moral of the story... get to a doctor asap if you suspect a brown recluse bite.

  • OMG FUGLY!!!! I PRAY one never bites me!!!

  • you'll poisen the fishes

  • now i'm scared to put my clothes on

  • This is a great video. Great quality, informative, and no annoying background noise. :)

  • theres one in my room watching me right now

  • Omg I just saw 1 in the side of my bed

  • my uncle got bit by one of these lil buggers :(

  • SPIDERS ARE SCARE

  • My understanding is that the poison is not that bad, its the bacteria that sometimes they carry that is similar to the flesh eating bacterias people sometimes get.

  • always check your shoes.

me and a friend decided to go arrowhead hunting here in georgia and i had 2-4 pairs of knee-high water proof boots. the boots had been sitting in the garage for about 2 years, i shook out his pair and they were good. just to be safe, got the shop-vac out and vacuumed the insides of his pair of boots. then we came to my pair, shook one boot and a black widow nest fell out.

  • @OnoaSnake Thats the reason why i love living in the channel islands.. there NO spiders like that. Thats so cringy! i feel sorry for you.. :3

  • can't wait for a zealous PETA members response.

  • i used to be an adventurer until i took a spider to the knee

  • @Catchphrase12 skyrim

  • we had an invasion recently...D: there were THOUSANDS OF BABIES! i almost got bitten by one...:(

  • @unclebobpart3 racist scum

  • awwww... you skipped the best part! I wanted to see the awesome battle against the recluse xD

  • awesome vid man :)

  • I was bit by a Brown recluse... the wound didn't grow to much.

It grew to about 1 inch but thats it...

Probably because i have such a high immunity to.. well everything :D

  • never leaving clothes on the floor now...

  • uhh it can kill ya dude... it looks weird though.. my house is infested with them so I was wondering.. because yours are a stanger color.. the ones here are like a more brown color

  • Nightmares. >.<

  • NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!

  • why does it sound like somone is taking a long piss

  • @multieskull Fish tank breh

  • Creepy!

  • if i were u i will call pest control

  • in london we have daddy long-legs they dont even have teeth.

  • guess im not getting any sleep tonight.

  • they only bite if you press them on your skin. like if they are in gloves or inside a shirt

  • 1:16 SHIT IT MOVED! KILL IT!

  • so glad I just saw this video - I installed two small glue traps about 3 days ago and caught two under my bed!!!

  • @chipjumper Thank you for bringing up glue traps, I am going to go buy some now, lol....my Christmas decorations are in my attic, I want to see if I have any lurking about.

  • I would think the poison in the brown recluse would kill the fish if they are it, right?

  • Thats the difference between being venemous and toxic. The recluse is venemous

  • @poontangsta1 Venomous is only bad if it enters the bloodstream. Toxic is bad if ingested or in blood.

  • @GraydonW I am quite aware of that.

  • what kind of fish do you have in there man?

  • i was just surprised about ten minutes ago by one of these S.O.B. it jumped on me while I was watching a movie.Lucky I killed it with my fist then I started research.

A couple months ago I must have been bitten by one...probably the same one.But I thought that it was just staff infection.

  • It will kill you if left untreated or u wait too long for treatment!!!!

  • I was bitten by a brown recluse and still have a giant scare as evidence where my flesh was disolved and took over a year to heal. Too bad you didn't show the fish eating it, I would have enjoyed that lol

  • Lol, Nekminit.

  • i once found one in my shoe one morning, something felt wrong before i put it on, and i smacked that mo-fo outside and out came that brown bastard, i then grabbed my pellet gun and shot him :D

  • @ECHO7AIRSOFT Isn't that over kill?

  • @TrustyWusty my friend, there is no such thing as overkill... :)

  • Great video, thank you! - I've only seen illustrations of the Brown Recluse and didn't think I could identify them just from that since there are so many similar looking spiders - now I've finally seen video and can confidently identify them.

  • very good video! thank you! i killed one today at the gym!

  • Oh, its not like you wanted to sleep that night

  • I think I might have hobo spiders in my garage

  • belgium is dangerous spider free :D

  • WTF!? That's what a brown recluse looks like!? Jesus, Joseph, and doggy style Mary! I've seen like 40 of those in the past week alone! And they were brown recluses????? .........fuck me, man.

  • @Potatoxpotahto dont worry so much, there are many other spiders that arnt as dangerous that look like them

  • Australia has very dangerous spiders as well as Brazil.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. We recently found a black widow in the yard. I wanted to show my kids what a brown recluse looked like. There are plenty of web sites with pictures but its hard to tell how big they are. This was really helpful. Hope we never see one other than in your video.

  • I live in Arizona and I'll take a bark scorpion sting over a brown recluse bite any day.

  • What kind of camera are you using? Very nice! I hate spiders with a passion!

  • if theres 1 brown recluse isnt it safe to assume there is MORE lingering in the house? O___O

  • @lolwut31 Paranoia in action right there... yes of course there's loads more

  • @lolwut31 No, it is a well-known fact that there is only ever usually one or two spiders in the same house at one time. They are also rare, finding two in the same space would be rare.

  • thanks bro. i live in cape coral florida. and there was 3 brow recluse spiders in my garage and 16 black widows. it was a nightmare cause i was the one that found that out lol. never going in there again

  • Ur a fuckin fag and a sadist for squishing him

  • thank you for the info my mom got bit by it so the info helpd

  • Dude spiders need to gtfo of this world they are discusting creepy and ugly and poisend and unwanted

  • @1996Sniperelite only a few...dumb shit...

  • Comment removed

  • @1996Sniperelite Yes in fact I am 12, but its a bit hard to tell that i'm the younger one here

  • Comment removed

  • i just realized i once shook one of them out of my shoe after wearing it for five minutes and feeling a tickle.... and i had a black widow crawl up my arm the other day... now im sorta freaked out

  • it looks quite green here.

  • Thanks for that. That was awesome :)

  • Black Widows and Brown Recluses scare the heck out of me.

  • yeah they can kill you I read about this lady who went into a coma and woke up like 3 months later to find all of her limbs amputated (she would have died if they didn't) yeah...this isn't something to just toss aside and "ignore" treat with respect and "handle" with care

  • boys out there, check your underpants before putting them on.

  • I do not like that spider

  • Annnnnnd, dead fish.

  • @ChibiGamez - thanks for the reply- but eating the spider doesn't hurt the fish.

  • Feed the fish? Huh? Doesn't that spider have nasty venom in its glands, which the fish will ingest?

  • wait can it have a blue body and brown legs? cuz i just saw a spider like that and im flipping out right now

  • @worktheflow Why would you flip out? There has only been one recorded death by one ever...they can't bite through clothing....I see no reason to freak out..

  • I live right in the middle of brown recluse territory. :(

  • Wouldn't that kill the fish with the venom?

  • Whats the % chance that their bite will end in extreme necrotic damage? And will necrotic wounds heal over time or is that like a permanent thing?

  • @bud389 Maybe 20% chance maximum? The wounds do heal over time. Just scarring for the most part.

  • @brainiac554 Ok, because i've seen some videos of people with GIGANTIC holes in their arms/legs.

  • i hate spiders!! but that is pretty bad ass

  • Comment removed

  • I saw one of these assholes outside my house today

  • ya me to im sorry to those things cost a lot only if it happento them thell fell how we fell

  • Sorry about your thumb, however, we are climbing the technical ladder so fast , you may just get a new one, one day. A good friend of mine had a nice chunk of his leg removed because of this little bastard. I've heard your better of getting bitten by a tarantula!

  • @SonnyREast Tarantula's aren't any more dangerous than a bee sting. They're only dangerous if you happen to be allergic.

  • @jimmyboy99 um no? there are some New World tarantulas (tarantulas native to the americas) that are as harmless as a bee, but most will hurt like a bitch, especially some of the more exotic species.

  • @jimmyboy99 Thats what I'm saying. Its just like a bee sting. Hurts like hell and thats about it. However there are people who are deathly allergic to be stings. It is the same for tarantula venom. Some people are allergic to it hence it can actually be dangerous given that context.

  • i had to have my thumb amputated because one of hose motherfuckers bit me and i aint joking. there bite doesn't usually hurt and the wound will never heal. the venom lurks around that area and can only be removed via amputation because they split up into particles and stick there

  • Thank God I havent ran into one, the closes things I've seen to a dangerous spider is a black widow at my old job.

  • Now I know why my dad always tells me to check my clothes before I put them on. I've seen huge ones, and small ones, but size doesn't really matter as long as you kill them. Nasty little creatures, eh?

  • I would burn the shirt.

  • Freaky little creature, oddly enough though thought it's brown, it has a greenish tint in the light. Problem is that little bugger is so small that you usually don't see it. If I remember correctly, brown recluse also chase after people, meaning they're aggressive and will go after you if they feel threatened. If anyone knows, correct me if I'm wrong, cuz I hope I am >_< I think I may start squashing all brown spiders now. Usually I just put them outside, but now I think it's safer to squash =/

  • i sucked one into my shop vac. when we took the carcass out is was shriveled up and small. it got from a nickel to a dime. creepy... [= -]

  • I just got bit by one on the 15th. It sucks

  • @BanzaiLUKE Maybe 1 or 2 brown recluses found in California every 3 years.

  • @BanzaiLUKE Brown Recluses are more dangerous, commonly mis-taken for the house spider or vice versa.

  • I fucked my ass, oops meant shit my pants

  • I didn't hear the person talking, i am only seeing the spider moving lol.

  • I have luck that I live in Europe :D !!!

I heard that this spider venom causes necrosis of the bited place.

    Sorry 4 my english :p

  • @MrDrSpanner It's not like Europe doesn't have deadly spiders...Europe has more venomous/poisonous plants and animals then the US...

  • OMG! My friends and I were having an airsoft war and we put the guns on my shrub bushes and went inside. a few hours later I came outside and I picked the gun up and WTFF is that!?!?!?!? I saw a brown recluse spider on my airsoft gun! so i dropped the gun and squashed it :) ...luckily I was okay but my airsoft gun was totaled.

  • Just killed one of these suckers in my bathroom, subtracting the last 4 days I've been out of town. I've killed 17 spiders in 15 days just in my room and bathroom alone. Time to call up that damn exterminator

    Wichita, KS for me

  • i think i saw one of these once by my computer, i took a culinary torch and fucked its ass up good :)

  • looks like theres a spider inside it... like a robot spider suit

  • spiders are gay as fuck brah

  • i hope u kill it

  • spider is OP

  • @creeksidenumber1 does that mean he is a faggot, Bah dum tssss

  • @catshumpcats3 it means over powered -_-

  • @creeksidenumber1 Nerf kthxbai

  • that is a really good camera

  • Well, I just so happened to be laying down trying to get some sleep felt somthing crawling on my arm to my suprise... A fiddle back. Now I'm wide awake. Decided to look up "brown recluse" in the youtube serch engine. And wow just so happens I too am In florence... FIrst video I look up.. What a small 8 legged world we live in.

  • Aww! : ( Why do we have to live in Alabama. I am extremely scared of spiders, poisonous or not! Snakes, sharks, bears, and scorpions don't scare me hardly at all.

  • Amazing bite for such a small spider, Can they bite through clothes like gloves or a shirt? The next time i go to the states to stay with friends im going to tap my shoes before i put them on.... Here in the UK we don't have anything like that...

  • @glenwoofit thank god

  • They aren't dangerous until they bite you, and it's very rare if they do. They usually only bite if you have the shirt on and they're pressed against you, or you're pressing their fangs close to the skin. They don't attack, they flee.

  • Today i picked up one of my blankets off the floor and a HUGE brown recluse, was in it and it crawled down my arm and feelll off. scared the shit outta me. the spider was about an inch and a half in diameter. looked just like a brown recluse though, maybe a wolf spider.

  • crikey

  • My arm started tickling, as if a bug was walking on me, while watching this video, I freaked out.

  • @Teapawts mee too, arrrrrghhhhhh

  • why th frick dose the vid stop and wen you tri to fast ford id it just syas put

  • I shit myself as soon as I saw the title.

  • I wish it was big enough to give a hug.

  • fuck, thats y i hate spiders

  • I feel like something keeps fucking crawling on me GAH damn it

  • one of these fuckers bit me a while back

  • shittttt, i'm wearing jeans that i just picked up off the floor o.o

  • Great camcorder, what model is it?

  • The Borwn Recluse isn't that aggressive. You could pick it up with a fairly low chance of a bite. One time it will bite is when it's compressed between two objects such as cloths and your skin. If the spider does bite it's mainly minor with no necrosis. The spiders fangs is too small to penetrate the skin, even things like socks and otehr clothing items. The spider is best avoided though for health and safety.

  • Very useful video, thanks for sharing!

  • do you feel the bite when it happens?

  • @Daisy64801 The bite is unfelt and wont be immediately painful. It will take a while before any pain starts. If the bite conatins necrosis then you should go see a doctor etc.

  • yay Australia, the most dangerous things we have here are probably Koalas ;) GG america

  • @MrJurisdiction Uhhh... not really. Crocodiles, alligators, box jellyfish and the Sydney funnel web spider (most deadly spider in the world). :L

  • My aunt was bitten by a BR spider and it almost killed her on day 3.. Because I am in Louisiana we have to look for them when we take our clothes out of the closets and before we put on our shoes.. But where we have to be the most careful is before we go to bed we have to check our sheets and all that before we can even crawl into bed.. They are house spiders and once bitten you become like a magnet to them and then they are drawn to you after that.. No dr around here can explain why that is.

  • @starlitdreamer20 So let me get this straight, you are practically living in fear in your own home by spiders and you still choose to live there? Kudos lol.

  • @cannonbulk Nah I don't live in fear of them because around here we grow up checking for them, it really becomes 2ed nature and something that we do not really think about but just do. They are not just in LA but everywhere there are lots of trees, they like the wooded areas. If you keep the area around your house sprayed then you really have nothing to worry about. But the bit itself is what people do not understand, it can and will kill you if you do not get it taken care of right away.

  • Found this fucker in my kitchen and chopped his ass to pieces.

  • Pull the mother fuckers legs off, and stab his ass, and hold him over a fire.

  • ugh...i live in a kinda barn and it had a brown recluse infestation and it scared the shit outa me when i saw a brood of them.

  • well done sir, the world is now a safer place

  • nah not all spiders ... in new Zealand we don't have any poisonous spiders :) or snakes thank goodness for that
