Absolutely well done! I am not in the military, but my grandfather was in the Navy, mom's boyfriend is a Vet, cousin was in the USAF and had Uncles in the Army so I guess you could say I come from a rather military family all around. I respect the troops and always pray for their safe return and that their families are doing okay.
@incongruousirony ~ that picture makes me cry everytime... Thsi video is so heart breaking thank you to the poster for sharing.... Peace and love to our military.
that picture is that of a funeral? It's an understatement to say that it's sad when such a young child loses a parent in a war far away from home. I'm not from the US but I can imagine the mixture of both overwhelming sadness and pride the boy must feel
I watched this and I cried SO hard... my dad was deployed to Iraq for a year in 2007 (he's home now) and I can absolutely relate to what the families in this video are going and went through.
aaronscag: You are right, it is a job, but its a job we took knowing that we could pay a heavy price. When you go to work in the morning, do you go wondering if you are going to make it home at the end of the day, or wondering if your friends will? Thats what makes our job different. Im not saying one job is better than the other. I'm saying we took this job knowing that we could be called upon to make a sacrifice that not many are willing to make.
@boomer303 Very eloquent in your answer. Good job. Its a shame that other mis-guided individuals can't keep their mouths shut along with their minds. Most of us truly appreciate what you brave young patriots do every day you put on that uniform. Thank you!
This video made me cry. It reminded me of what I went through when my dad had to leave for months at a time. It also reminded me when I was married to my ex-husband and how much I missed him when he had to go. This video did a great job of showing everyone what we go through too when our loved ones have to go when we want them to stay.
That was definitely the best military tribute I have ever seen! Not many videos have bothered me because I lived through the situation already! But that was touching and yes, I cried! Thank you for this and thank you to all are troops on duty, off duty, veterans, etc. THANK YOU!
I'm speechless. This is one of the most touching and true to the heart videos I have seem. A lot of people don't realize that the families sacrifice so much along with our troops. God bless them all!! Thank you for doing this.
well is your job dangerous or do you protect or save lifes if so then heres some respect but if your flippin burgers or some stuff like that well i dont have the same respect
So since my job is not what you would call "Dangerous", then I don't deserve the same respest. You are an ignorant slave to the media. Why don't you open a book and form a unique opinion on something instead of repeating what you hear on 20/20 or Dateline. Douche!
You moron. If you're going to try and argue with someone like that, you left out a very impotant peice of lordouch's argument. "or save lives." No, you didn't address that. So I assume you don't save lives. You probably sit your fat bitch ass around watching the media talk shit about the U.S. troops, because they do trust me. I bet you don't know the truth what's going on in Iraq. Iraq? it's not so dangerous anymore. Afghanistan? Yes.
You want him to form AN unique opinion ( learn some basic grammar you ass clown. ), but you also want him to open a book...and read. About other people's opinions. Which will affect his opnion. So what you're starting is a vicious cycle of other people's opinions....You make me laugh. You fucking retard...how about you do us all a favor and just well..hell...go kill yourself? :)?
I don't mean to be insensitive, but we have a 100% volunteer military in the USA. Each and every member is paid a wage and given many other incentives to join and stay in the military. This is a job, period. I wish that everyone respected my occupation as much as a soldier's, sailor's, etc...
There is a basis of respect for everyone who is employed the difference is, Military members go through alot of training and sacrifice alot of time in their lives to do their job. As a service job they put their lives on the line and as of late the military has not had alot of support. One of my Marine friends was yelled at by a lady in the bookstore cause he was fighting the war. I just wish people remembered: You can say these things and post videos like this and make statements thanks to them
Now you are simply being unrealistic. Your reply did not speak to any of my points. Nor does my right to post videos and comments on YouTube have anything to do with any current Military action. I have gone through quite a bit of training for my job and sacrifice alot of time that could be spent with family and friends in my work. And people yell at me almost daily for ignorant reasons.
I am sorry to hear that...and i did not deny that you go through training and you get yelled at and you sacrifice time. What I am saying is look: 2 year deployments or at least up to 6 months being totally gone, sometimes your families dont even know where you are. In order to even do that you have to spend at least between 4-6 weeks or longer in Basic training, then isolated to Job specific training. That is only a small part of it.
If you are a member of the U.S. Army who is on active duty, training, or a member of the Reserves, you are automatically covered with group term life insurance up to $400,000.
merry christmas soldiors! you are doing your best and people want you home for christmas so make this war over so you can return home to your loved ones and stay home with them! hurry up they are waiting. best wishes and merry christmas.
I was raised an Army brat, am now married to it. I however have been a gold star daughter/family member for alittle over 2 yrs now. Thank you for posting this... much of it was too familar to me at this point.. But thank you
This video and song hits it right on the head. Bother of my brother-in-laws are Army and I know what is like to have to say goodbye and just sit and wait until they let us know they are doing okay. I've had to say goodbye to a high school friend who gave his life at the age of 23 for us. God bless our troops and their families!
Took your dare, didn't cry at all. :P
But really, a nice, moving video. I'd have to be that Marine who has to give that boy the flag. :(
