wrong obama plan works for every american anyway we need to unite the party nothin will be worst if john mccain win we all will die young cuz his health care plan will fail us all!!!
people saying that they can't afford Hillary or Edwards' Health Care obviously don't know they facts of their plan. If someone cannot afford the mandatory cost, then they are rewarded subsidies by the federal govt. that will make it accessible and affordable for everyone.
Obama's plan has a major, major flaw. If I don't have health insurance, and I go into a hospital and I need thousands of dollars worth of medical aid spent on me, all other Americans are left with the bill
"the problem is not that people don't want to buy insurance.. it's they CAN'T AFFORD it".. Sooo why mandate it??!!? Entire Insurance business is SCAM!!
Ever wonder why is that one pays insurance all the years, adding up to a huge sum and then when an accident occurs, the premium goes up??!!? What is the logic?? What happened to the money u had been giving? Do you actually get penalized for spending your "own" money when u needed it(accident)??
The only conclusion from these three canidates that can be made is when it comes to running a country all three of them are immature and have no business being in this race
i hate and kinda scares me that they would make people pay for Health Care, personally I can't afford it. I really want Health Care, but its just to expense, so to me I love Obama's plan. To make it cheaper would be wonderful for me and many other people.
You will notice that Obama attempts to stay very clear on specifics, while Hillary throws around deliberately twisted accusations. Yes, they are both critical of one another. However, she is pure politics, while he is attempting to clarify his record and make legitimate distinctions between them. I don't think Edwards smells like a rose, either. He is chuckling at his lack of time in the cross-hairs.
The United States spends $5,267.00 per man, woman and child for healthcare. France spends $2,736.00 per person. France is number one in the world in providing there citizens with Healthcare. France has the Lowest mortality rate and lowest infant mortality rate than any other country.
True... the main issue is all the junk health care companies put in the system to make a profit. I'm a democrat, but I think John McCain is the only one who has addressed this issue fully.
Don't you people realize that the problem is the same problem every year? And every year we have the candidates saying the same thing? Changes, Promise, Universal heath care..
If our dollar isn't fixed, you can kiss ALL of those good bye. Don't believe me? Look it up.
I think we need to realize why health care is so expensive... there are too many fingers in the pie. There are too many people between the doctor and the patient, the patient and the insurance company, the patient and his prescription. HMOs have ruined health care in America but it is still better than anything else the world has to offer.
I would be willing to bet that you make that ignorant statement without ever traveling to the rest of the world, especially Europe. My american friend was hit by a car on vacation, and treated for free without any hassle. It was quality healthcare. If you never leave the country, you can't make such an ignorant statement.
I would definitely agree with some below me, I say any combination of President and Vice President and between Obama and Edwards with Kucinich as secretary would be what America needs. Hilary CLinton stated she would not meet iwth controversial world leaders face to face, and I doubt the MidEast would take her seriously. If hilary goes in for leadership, itll be the same story of politics weve had for years
I know this will raise some hackles among the die-hard Hillary fans, but these days just her voice gives me the creeps, not to mention her rabid power-hungry contortions of truth. I'd still rather see her than a Republican of course, but I dream of an EDWARDS Presidency. VP = Obama. Dennis K for Sec. of a new Dept. of Peace.
Well, if Dennis Kucinich was in this debate. Resolution HR676 would cover every American in a single-payer(not-for-profit)healthcare. He is the only Democratic for the people. These debates aren't even debates.
waahh. we pay less taxes than people in most European Countries. But they get like 6 wk vacations, and they know they are taken care of. I'm not worried about paying a reasonable amount for health insurance. I am pissed, however to be paying for this war, or subsidizing the oil industry and other big business. Edwards/Obama 08!
Republicans have conditioned their constituency to bark automatically at the very mention of a tax. You can barely pay your car insurance precisely because the insurance companies charge you to cover the uninsured. For-profit health care is the enemy. Europeans can't believe working people in America take the shit they do in the name of lower taxes.
What is so special about these illegal aliens that US citizens should be hurt for their benefit. Surely just walking across the border or over-staying a visa cannot be reason enough to hurt US citizens for the benefit of illegal aliens! If it is, the value of US citizenship is vastly overrated.
mandatory health coverage is not a favorable idea for me. The problem is not that all americans aren't covered, it's that those who want or need coverage can't afford it. I agree with Obama on this issue.
Much of the medical costs increases are the result of frivolous lawsuits... Once this problem is fixed, then we can address medical costs.
The other problem in the idea that health insurance is a waste of money is what will you do with those who cannot pay for any medical services. Do you let them expire naturally? If not, who is going to pick up their tabs?
Actual Medical Cost + Frivolous Lawsuits = Cost Medical Services
But how do you lower medical costs? Mandate price controls on drugs? Income caps on health care professionals? Use cheap medical devices made in China? Who's going to draw up plans for these things and enforce them?
And by the way, social security is taking care of people who are elderly now, who have ALREADY worked.
lowering medicals could cost the same as health insurance on average. Of course it would require for the Govt to step in and use our tax money. Another cost for hospitals is when insurance companies refuse to pay. That happens way too often. Also, you should have to prove to someone that you cannot afford to pay for those bills (bankruptcy).
but there's always a way. Price control, laws specifying hospital, doctor, and patient rights, grants, etc...

mandated health insurance = socialism?
Social security = taking care of people I'd rather not work with.
health insurance = waste of money.
Just lower medical costs.
