people saying that they can't afford Hillary or Edwards' Health Care obviously don't know they facts of their plan. If someone cannot afford the mandatory cost, then they are rewarded subsidies by the federal govt. that will make it accessible and affordable for everyone.

Obama's plan has a major, major flaw. If I don't have health insurance, and I go into a hospital and I need thousands of dollars worth of medical aid spent on me, all other Americans are left with the bill

i hate and kinda scares me that they would make people pay for Health Care, personally I can't afford it. I really want Health Care, but its just to expense, so to me I love Obama's plan. To make it cheaper would be wonderful for me and many other people.

You will notice that Obama attempts to stay very clear on specifics, while Hillary throws around deliberately twisted accusations. Yes, they are both critical of one another. However, she is pure politics, while he is attempting to clarify his record and make legitimate distinctions between them. I don't think Edwards smells like a rose, either. He is chuckling at his lack of time in the cross-hairs.

The United States spends $5,267.00 per man, woman and child for healthcare. France spends $2,736.00 per person. France is number one in the world in providing there citizens with Healthcare. France has the Lowest mortality rate and lowest infant mortality rate than any other country.

I think we need to realize why health care is so expensive... there are too many fingers in the pie. There are too many people between the doctor and the patient, the patient and the insurance company, the patient and his prescription. HMOs have ruined health care in America but it is still better than anything else the world has to offer.

I would definitely agree with some below me, I say any combination of President and Vice President and between Obama and Edwards with Kucinich as secretary would be what America needs. Hilary CLinton stated she would not meet iwth controversial world leaders face to face, and I doubt the MidEast would take her seriously. If hilary goes in for leadership, itll be the same story of politics weve had for years

You can barely pay your car insurance precisely because the insurance companies charge you to cover the uninsured. For-profit health care is the enemy. Much of the medical costs increases are the result of frivolous lawsuits... Once this problem is fixed, then we can address medical costs.

The other problem in the idea that health insurance is a waste of money is what will you do with those who cannot pay for any medical services. Do you let them expire naturally? If not, who is going to pick up their tabs?

Actual Medical Cost + Frivolous Lawsuits = Cost Medical Services

But how do you lower medical costs? Mandate price controls on drugs? Income caps on health care professionals? Use cheap medical devices made in China? Who's going to draw up plans for these things and enforce them?

And by the way, social security is taking care of people who are elderly now, who have ALREADY worked.

lowering medicals could cost the same as health insurance on average. Of course it would require for the Govt to step in and use our tax money. Another cost for hospitals is when insurance companies refuse to pay. That happens way too often. Also, you should have to prove to someone that you cannot afford to pay for those bills (bankruptcy).

but there's always a way. Price control, laws specifying hospital, doctor, and patient rights, grants, etc...
