Well i dont know if becoming a pilot in the states are easier than Asia or Dubai but pilots from well known airlines there sure as hell dont have to have a second job or get by with food stamps to survive. Airlines in America treats their pilots/crews like shit this days.

even with 125hrs of ppl, i still got rejected by some flight schools in my region due to me holding only an engineering diploma.

i would say you don't have to know the complicated math, since there is a computer in the cockpit, but you do need to know basic math and have a college degree.

you don't need a college degree to get into any of the regionals and even some of the majors. you do need a high school diploma + your certificates and ratings.

Well, the rest of your competition in getting an airline job has a college degree -- 97%. So while a degree may not be a requirement per se, it does make you competitive and attractive for hiring. FlyGirl, im sorry but right now airlines do not need more pilots, since the fuel prices are still high right now, plus its really expensive for people to pay for the training, a PPL costs about $8,000, plus theres multi-engine license, commercial pilot license, and basic training will be about $60,000 if not more. but im still wanna be a pilot, and thats who i am going to be :)

You are right, my friend. Since I put this video up, the pilot shortage is over and some pilots are on furlough, but it's not forever. The economy goes up and down. I go into detail about the outlook of airlines and aviation in my new DVD as well as the cost of training and how to find funding. It's almost available.
