Don't know what green belt stand for in her dojo, in my daughter's it is a higher level which close to advanced. For beginner she is excellent. My daughter is in same age and she got her gold on kata at the third tournament, the first time she got third. Keep going Hannah, maybe you and Lia will meet in a international tournament one day.

In our school, National Karate ('American Tae Kwon Do' style) it goes White, Yellow, Yellow stripe, Green, Green Stripe and so on thru purple, blue, red, brown and then finally black belts. 15 in all to 1st Dan Black. Hannah just got her Blue belt in Jan 09 and is starting Bo. Good teachers make ALL the difference. She has the best! (I think so anyways.) We usually go to Diamond Nationals and Minnesota tourneys. This vid was taken about 1 yr into training. I'm very proud of her. ~ Mom

So she was equal to White belt two strip in our system, really good. My children is learning traditional Japanese style and we have less color belts, it means every belt change is harder. Lia is going to get her green belt and into the intermediate level at next grading. Good luck for both girls and moms.
