@kenaniahmwh ;hi, I am in Zone 9, so I don't have too much to worry about. So I do not have many experience winterizing my plants, so with that said, maybe you can share some of your experiences. For example, why would you be concerned about the large container? I would think for Winterizing, the larger the pot, the better it is, no??
@Kjbrunzo This one is just a very basic Acer Palmatum, not an exotic cultivar, just the basic one, these are stronger and easier to take care of than the other variety.
That is a beautiful Japanese Maple, good job. Im usually interested in mostly just the Red Maples, but this video makes me want to grow some green varieties now. 2 thumbs up!
@Kjbrunzo I got some red ones too, but I figure that it will look better in my garden if I have both Green and Red type of maples., you know, better colors !! :)
@DGDK23@DGDK23 yes, as a matter of fact, this plant is a candidate for my future bonsai work, but I wanted it to fatten up a little bit more, so I am slowly training it, and hopefully in 3 years it should be ready to become a bonsai.
i cant my nursery doesnt sell maples, i live in las vegas nevada and they dont carry any but i have a few not bonsais that are really healthy i just want one for a bonsai.
@1bonsaimaster sorry not for sale, but it is more interested for you to go to your local nursery and take your time to pick the one you like and grow them yourself, try it, you will enjoy it!!
what USDA zone do you live in? I am in 5a and would be concerned about winterizing an acer palmatum in such a large container.
