Check out this new rapper Stryve, he's up and coming but the dude is sick as hell! I heard him on a Detroit radio station last weekend spittin, and Eminem called in and said this wont be the last you see of Stryve! Pretty crazy, considering its Em ya know, but i'll let ya'll be the judge, type in Stryve-Finally Made It, dope song!
Wu-Massacre quality wise is still better then 90% of the garbage pushed out today. Of course we're gonna complain on how short it is but its really only because we enjoying the shit.
As far as a modern day Illmatic, I'll be real, people need to let go of that album. It was hot for 15 years but the LP just doesn't hold it's weight anymore. Let Nas do his thing because Untitled was fiya.
@HopTheHip Because it is... Really dissapointing, meth said it himself, they got pushed to finish the album as fast as possible. And you can clearly hear it on the album, very short, very mediocre effort this album... Crap might be a bit to harsh, but hey im a wu fan, i was expecting a lot from this album but it just didnt came out like it shoulda have... You should buy OBFCL II that album was fiyah, this one just simply isnt. Dope artwork though
@thgryda: This album was short, but it was dope. You're mistaking quality with quantity. Mef did say they got pushed, but they also said it was a dope album and that Wu fans would enjoy it and this is straight fiya. I got OBFCLII, it was fiya, but it wasn't flawless (especially one of the two Dr. Dre tracks which didn't fit in with the rest of the album). It's like a modern-day Illmatic in terms of quality vs quantity - short but dope is what sums this album up
@OGDutch I didnt say it was flawless but its way better then this one. And to compare this album to illmatic is just blasfemy man!!! Every track on illmatic is dope, on this album only the track Miranda is dope. Our dreams is ok too and i liked the smooth sailing remix. Although brother ali's track on that beat is waaay doper... So three ok tracks, three mediocre tracks (6-8) and four plainout bad songs (1,2,11,12) not illmatic by a long shot
@thgryda: I disagree with you. Track 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (not my favourite beatwise, but it's Ghost as we know him, on that story telling shit) & 10 are dope. 2 & 11 are okay/good but not dope, on track 2 Raekwon raps like he does on OB4CLII but the beat is weak. Track 12 is wack. I also disgree with you that every track on illmatic is dope. I enjoyed it, the only track that put me off was "One Love" that beat was just annoyed the shit out of me especially the chorus. Still top 3 albums tho
@OGDutch We clearly disagree, thats for sure. But i know i found this album to mediocre, as if they didnt put much time in it, which in fact they didnt. Nothin to do with quantity vs quality both are missing in my book. Like you said illmatic is in 50 procent of hip hop heads' top 10 of all time. This one wont
To answer EVERYBODY'S incessant question of the chorus... It is Michael Jackson when he was 17 years old "We're Almost There" I sampled this myself YEARS AGO!
the chours sounds like michael jackson rip when he was young. is this a new song from the album ghost rae and meth? when is this video coming out on mtv?
Anyways IMO i think this will be a hit. I like all the tracks that have eaked so far and this video looks pretty cool. "Its that Wu Shit" gets me thinkin that it'll be another New Wu"
if you call your album wu massacre it better have all wu element producrion....i think im gonna haxe to hear it before i buy it cause the wu just aint the same nowadays...just check out deck's new piece of trash i mean album ......nuff said
@bertfreez I'm on WuTangCorp and I hate the stans there, they be jumping on every wu dick, Manifesto is horrible, nobody from the Wu should be a money rapper :/
@es10860 I'm a little pissed off this album is only gonna have one RZA beat [this one], and no Cilvaringz beat. C'mon man, WuMassacre without beats like Weeping Tiger [prod. RZA/Cilva]?? Cilva did gave Math the sample for Mef vs. Chef 2 tho.. let's I'm wrong
True that the list of producers look dissapointing. The guest are also a tad dissapointin but i think its too early to complain man for all we know, they might completely change the tracklistin
i have the strangest of feelings this album won't be as great as we thought.. I mean, Crim2.5 was average at best, with Ghost's second verse from Badlands, re-used beat,... sounds lazy to me.
I'd say Ghost was in his prime before and after jail time in '98, all to '00. Nowadays he perfected his stories. RZA was slowly fading away after his superb '97 display and is really hard to listen nowadays. GZA, MK and Uey are the same, only that Uey still makes the same songs with same flows. INS was cool on OB4CLII, but his solo is awful, the same goes for him like in RZA's case. Rae progressed, but not much, but it's still dope. Method Man is debateable, cuz sometimes he delivers, sometimes
but sometimes he's just dull and predictable. like on BO2 with Redman, or his last two solos. Anyway, Rae really stands out for me. But yeah, a lot of times, it seems like the Wu are lacking something. They should work together more...
dang i cant wait at all march 30!!!lol man we definitely need these 3 right here a lot of people suck today...personally for me i dont think the new rappers suck (well only a few of them) but thats just not the music i listen to we need that old grimey gritty hip hop...
this video sounds awesome, when i saw the album trailers and heard the song Our Dreams i thought wtf this song doesn't sound anything like what the album trailers showed, but now it all makes sense
