  • You know, after watching this show a couple of times in reruns on GSN.... that made me think. Instead of going after a complete format change, they should just revise the questions. For example instead of asking the contestants to take out the wrong answers in "Which theme song was composed by Paul Anka?", the question should have been "What are the three theme songs that was not composed by Paul Anka?" Thus that way it eliminated the awkward goal of finding wrong answers.

  • @nextbarker And since when was there television in 1908?

  • uh, the I in Trivia (on the logo sign) is a little dim

  • the reason the answer to when this aired is 2/31/1908 is BECAUSE IT DIDN'T AIR

  • Interesting find -- just wanted to note that John, the auctioneer on the Seniors Team, also appeared on the last civilian episode of "Hot Potato" (April 20, 1984).

  • @WarioBarker88 And Bonnie Murrow appeared on the first civilian episode of Hot Potato (the premiere).

  • is that mel gibson?? lol

  • I actually like this set better than the one used on the air.

  • It was a sarcastic answer. Pilots don't typically ever air.

  • Since when does pilot shows air on Television?

  • Seniors have the green podium

  • If they brought this back, the set background would be blue and the podiums would be the same but they'll be lit up.

  • Hey,Wasn't Greg Rainwater on this program?I was told he was! He Later appeared on "The Young Riders"!I have a signed photo of him and a color photo of him! Thanks for sharing!

  • Trivia Trap really doesn't seem like a bad idea for a game show. First of all, they need to get rid of the red and blue sweaters. I'm not too crazy about that idea.

I think if the people at Freemantle Media can think about bringing this show back and really work hard on making it better, the show should be a success.

  • I like this version of the set better than the one they actually used.

  • a) I think I actually like this set design better, and

    b) Clearly, the big change was that they're not wearing sweaters.

  • I noticed the one thing that didn't change was the swings of momentum during each right and wrong answer.

  • Wow things do look diffent form the pilot then when they show becomes a series.

  • It's a wonder the "play it safe"/"go for it" option didn't stay in tact when TT went to series.

As explained in Bob's autobiography, where's the fun for the home viewer in only cutting the wrong answers -- when said viewer knows the right answer all along?

  • The Classic Concentration sound is there.

  • This is what the set would look like if this show aired on ABC Primetime...LOL! Bob and the contestants playing like they're in night school...LOL.

  • Oh yeah, and the Seniors had a green podium instead of red like the series.

  • Bob Hilton was one thing that didn't make it to air...that is, until the middle of the run.

  • The 4th week of shows and beyond to be exact.

  • During the Trivia Trap Round, finding the right answer did not elicit the "jaws" graphic. It was a circle X.

  • Also, there's no FF fast money sound effect when the answers are revealed. No "Juniors" and "Seniors" embedded in the background walls (for the first part of the run). In the series, the podiums have "Juniors" and "Seniors" in their respective podium colors (Blue and Red) against a cream background in the center. There's only one set of display digits on the podiums of the series, and the words "Jr" or "Sr" is where the other two displays are in the pilot.

  • That Sound Effect came when Ray Combs became the host.

  • Oh, he where's a suit here, on the show he wore casual clothes.

  • The set is definitely a lot different. Bob Eubanks and the contestants are not wearing the casual sweaters seen on the actual show. The backwall on the set actually changes color. Yellow-Gold to Midnight Blue. The background behind the players and podiums have different color schemes. The bulls-eyes and the the trivia trap symbols on the screens were different as well. Also Bob Eubanks doesn't have a mic on him like he does on the actual series of the show.

  • Not only that, but the unchosen answers disappear while the chosen ones were played, and reappeared when it was time to choose another group of answers. And finally, (correct me if I'm wrong (really) but) the Trivia Trap sign did not flash (in Card Sharks '78 fashion).

  • Why did Bob Eubanks and the contestants had to wear sweaters when Trivia Trap went to a series for ABC daytime? Was it ABC's rules?

  • They don't have the sweaters!! I liked the sweaters!
