JOURNEY fans buy pre STEVE PERRY JOURNEY TAPES AND CDS if can... and appreciate the ORIGINAL JOURNEY from the the start !!!!!!! it will move YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Rvickery100 Agreed. Next was a little weak relative to the first Album and Look into the Future, but Neil ripped some great solos and vocals in I Would Find You, one of my favorites, behind Look into the Future and Kohutek
@hockeyenforcer24 I couldn't agree more. I would love to see this incarnation of the band again. I always thought the group was too "poppy" with Steve Perry.
1st 3 were years ahead of their time, and i got to thank greg for that music a couple years ago in vegas....they wer 2 TOTALLY separate fucking bands.thanks to the orifg. 4

I wish Gregg & Neal would get back together. After all the falling out with Steve - who is clearly never coming back, and the multiple bandmates & singers since then, why not reunite the old, more original lineup? Gregg, Neal, Aynsley (or Smith), Ross, heck bring in the new guy to help with those Perry/Rollie duets (Anytime, etc). It makes sense!! The guys that left or were booted, please get together and reform the REAL Journey!!!
The first 3 Journey albums were by far the best progressive rock they ever recorded. Then they got commercialized and never were they same. I still love Journey with Steve Perry but my favorite will always be their first 3 'pre-Steve Perry' albums. Going to see them live this Friday Oct 3rd 2008 in Phoenix with Cheap Trick warming up.
@reoufo They were good. We were at a Journey concert when they did the first half original music, they then announced we have a special guest and out comes Steve Perry. We weren't sure about the music. It was Pop Rock. But we grew to like it. Peace.
can anybody enlighten me? who's the firstlead singer of journey? what's the chronological order? if i may ask.. gregg rolie, Robert Fleichsman, steve perry, steve augeri, J Scott soto, arnel penida.. is this correct?
Thank you, Thank you. What an amazing treat! I absoloutely love Steve and Gregg together. Great playing by everyone. This just sounds SOOO GOOOODDD!!!!

Management had too much power in those days and they destroyed genius by convincing the artist to FALL for the $, literally

Agreed. Fantastic music. Too bad the general public doesn't know about this era of Journey. All they think of is Faithfully and Don't Stop Believin'.
This album is really where you can see how fantastic they are as musicians.

Yes, that's correct. Gregg in the early days. Fleischman for a short time in '77. Perry after that. Then Augeri, Soto, and now Pineda.

Neal Schon also sang some songs before and during Steve Perry's time in Journey as well.

@Lando1981 Yea, he sang on Next I believe. My favorite band before Steve Perry. Different Band afterward with a different audience.
