Nah, you guys need to check out her other interviews posted on youtube. She didn't watch Buffy - her sister did. Although Buffy was a pretty good show (except that musical-episode, I didn't even watch that 1 to the end cos it was just ridiculously stupid) and I missed maybe 1 or 2 episodes throughout the seasons, I was a huge fan from day 1, but I never got inspired by Buffy to write about vampires.
