  • what a fantastic performance!

  • this music was developed in the 1400's. not just a collection formed by american jews

  • Great Dancing Feruza -Opa. I am glad you are still dancing. Please, Keep going , please. I will not quit either like you do not. You give me great courage.

  • sorry to hear that, anyway thank you for posting it.

    it is appreciated.

    have a great day.

  • make them come to israel and perform... it would be a pleasure to see real shash maqam

    performed. much love from israel.

  • @shedmeraked this group has long been disbanded, some of the members are no longer alive like Isak Katayev or Tuhfaxon Pinkhasova, but I am sure other Bukharian Shashmaqom ensembles will come to Israel and perform for years to come.

  • That second piece sounded freakishly similar to Pontic Greek style music. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Know what I mean?

  • my mom's cousin's husband is part of this now defunct ensemble. Zinda Bosheton!

  • These folks are wonderful! I had the great pleasure of seeing some of them in Washington, D.c. in 1994... and want to come to Queens for food, music and dance!

  • It's so beautiful. i live in New York and have only come to meet and familiarize myself with Bukharan Jews in the last few years. i am not Jewish but i have only ever met ashkenazi jews and some sephardim in my life that i know of. This is expanding my understanding and i think many of the jews i know have prejudices against the bukharans and need to open their hearts more.
