The trick here is to feel utterly invincible, relaxed and secure in the fact that not a single thing can hurt you while you dream. I used a visualization technique. I gave myself a shield, I watched a lot of Dragon ball z at the time, so i gave myself a shield of white flame. One of my friends used the glowing bubble shield from halo. Get creative.
