I just thought of something different.. Stefan may have tried to doublecross Klaus, and as a punishment and warning, Klaus may send Ray to kill Damon or Elena.. By compelling him (we know he can compell supernaturals) or just orders him to; he may have werewolves, just like he had witches.. Then Tyler and Damon together kill him, also making amends this way..

@VixenThorn That's what everyone keeps saying, I think something different will happen. Something that gives us an information about a weakness of an hybrid or an influence of a werewolf over Klaus, so that one day Tyler will be a great trump against Klaus too. We know that a werewolf bite can't kill an original but we do know it is harmful for a vampire, so what is the harm? He helps us learn it, then he realises what is that he's been messing with and runs for life and never comes back.
