Oh okay. Now I see the issue. Pause at 1:14. The 599 dirver raced with his window down. That creates drag and kills your car's aerodynamics. The 599 has a better power to weight ratio. It should win in a straight line. But its not going to when the driver is creating extra drag.

Lambo is bringing out a new hell of a car within 2 years time, called the "Sesto Elemento". This is a 999kg super - supercar which has the 570 hp V10 from the LP570-4 Superleggera. Also 4-wheel drive, the Sesto Elemento will do 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds and have a top speed of more than 217 mph... I can't wait for it...

Not that I will ever be able to get one in the first place :-)

The race must be done by m5board organization at the same track with both great drivers. You must be new... I will give the answer for you. LP560 will pull on the ZR-1 by anywhere from 2~ 4 car lengths so it will be pretty close.

@itchytasty100, from dig, the ZR1 can beat the 599GTB. From rolling speeds to near top end, it won't be able to beat the 599GTB. If you throw in the LP560, it will pull on the ZR-1 by about 4 car lengths, 2 on the 599GTB. If LP550 the joined this competition it would pull on the ZR-1 by close to one tennis court. But the rolling race must be done by m5boarddotcom organization as they are insanely professional. All the rest are biased and unreputable. ZR1 is only good at drag strip

Mate, I don't really believe that such powerful cars would be bogged down by the weight of the drivers, no way. A Smart car can be bogged down if a 100kg person enters it, but cars like these 560hp and 620 hp really wouldn't care less. Simply put, they have SO MUCH power they don't *excuse me for the expression) give a f@ck. As far as the drivers' reflexes or timing on changing gears, maybe yes, that's contrivuting many times a lot to the outcome of a race. But we learnt that the Lambo is faster

I am not very sure about this Gustav, I was looking at some stats for both these cars, can I give some performance numbers?

CGT 0-100 3.9 sec top speed 330 (205mph)

LP560-4 0-100 3.7 sec top speed 325 (202mph)

Before saying that the Lambo is slower than the CGT at top speed, I need to remind that in this video the Lambo was catching the Ferrari 599 which also has the same top speed of the CGT.

I am not sure the CGT is faster mate, can you do a race?

We raced the 599 vs LP560 at least 2 times, I beleive maybe even 3 times. You could say it was a tie.

CGT have always won over the 599 and LP560 so I would say it is safe to say the CGT is indeed faster.

However, here it got the jump.

Yeah but I watched the video immediately after I posted the above comment, and the CGT is not stock - it has a tuned exhaust. I believe that if it were stock, the outcome of the race would be a tie at least. That's how I see things mate :-)

Ok mate I agree it may be a bit faster, but as far as the acceleration from 0 to100 km/h is concerned, I maintain that the Lambo, according to official figures, is 0.2 seconds faster. Maybe the CGT has better in-gear acceleration and that's why it wins. Ok, thank you very much!! And keep up the good work - we are missing an LP560-4 versus a Ferrari F430 Scuderia now, if you can have this done, please sometime... :-)

0-60 isnt a gd indicator seen as the lambo is AWD and the cgt is rwd,

and top speed u need to take into account the cgts aerofoil, it top speed would be much higher if that were down or without at all because of the drag, in the in gear acceleration or the cgt will be a lot higher than the lambos

Well, if it were a top speed contest, the 599 would eventually win, because:

LAMBO 560-4 202mph (325 km/h)

FEZZA 599 205mph (331 km/h).

Even so, they are VERY close, but I would prefer having the LAMBO - better looking AND cheaper. Great combination of power, price (relatively) and looks. In fact the LP560-4's front is almost identical to the Reventon.

There is no doubt about that mate, the Lambo LP670-4 SV is a HELL of a car and the 599 has no chance against it. The performance figures are:

LP670-4 SV - 661bhp 0-60mph 3.2 secs top speed 212 mph (341 km/h)

599 GTB - 611 bph 0-60mph 3.7 secs top speed 205 mph (331 km/h).

If I were rich I would take the Lambo. However I would like to see such a race, because if the LP560-4 can juuust beat the 599, I am sure the LP670-4 SV would put close to 3 cars lead on a mile-long race.

True, we do rolling starts in order to minimize driver variables of the start. Also eliminate grip problems.

Exactly, rolling start usually from 50 km/hour cuts down on the variance that result from drivers flooring it from the start and just smoking their wheels. Also, there is a great description on one of the videos about how this is a test "above the quarter mile". There are plenty of videos of cars doing 0-60 or 0-100 mph, not nearly as many of cars doing 30-170 mph.
