A little glimpse into how women are treated in Muslim families in Kosovo and generally in Albania, i.e. very poorly and disrespectfully, in some cases regarding them as property of a man.
There's also a National Geographic documentary series called "Taboo" (specifically, Season 6, episode "The Third Sex" - I recommend it) which brings the story of women in rural Albania who swap their gender for the other to gain equality among men.
Very unpleasant state of affairs, to say the least.
