This is my favourite version of this prelude...absolutely perfect! But Gilbert is a bit casual in the fugue.

I was so privileged to study with this great musician/teacher at the Quebec Conservatoire many years ago. Although I no longer play the harpsichord, his meticulous and cerebral approach to the polyphonic intricacies of the early Baroque masters has influenced my entire musical life. Like Glenn Gould, I see the piano as an extension of the harpischord and revel in the complexities of this music. Oooh la la ... I love it.
Thank you SO much Kenneth Gilbert for what you shared so well.
