spore is good but to let u all know, maxis is coming out with an expansion. the expansion expands on the space stage, you can beam down to planets and do missions.(u can even create your own game play)

Yeah -- it was made by Maxis, which is, of course, the same creators of The Sims. I'd go as far as to say that if you like The Sims, you'd probably like Spore. In my opinion, though, it's definitely a casual gamer's game -- not to say that a few hardcore gamers wouldn't like it or anything.

To answer the question better: The creature editor will be included in the game. You only have to buy it separate if you want to make creatures now.

nothing in the game is premade its all created by someone somewhere they get uploaded into the your system that other people in the world have created that populate your galaxy planets citys all of it but no your creature you create from the stage of cells 2 monsters 2 tribes 2 citys 2 empires and your planet is unique!

It will take up 1 - 5 GB for the base data.

The files are instructions to use the base data to make the creatures at about 100 - 200 KB.

Procedural generation was used during the age of floppies to just so it fits the little space, in Spore to make the space required reasonable.

It also allows the game to make subtle modifications of premade creatures by changing the procedural instructions.

actually blowing up your home planet would pretty much leave you to do whatever you want,you wouldnt have to worry about enemies attacking your homeworld if its space dust lol.=)

no,the 10 dollar one is the creature creator,the 49 dollar one is spore,and its only a pre ordering,you cant get it until september 7th

I just read at Wikipedia that you can build cities underwater. But you can't swim around with your creature:(. Nonetheless this game is gonna be absolutley great!

Yep. Spore guna have like 4 expansions. 2 for creatures, 1 for materials and the final will be for Online. But i think theyl make that a different game. I mean, none wold like if you just start and someon blows up your planet xD

As anyone not in would get conquered and therefore wouldn't be able to join the alliance.

Then there'd be nobody to join the alliance so it wouldn't be able to conquer other races.

So there would be plenty to join the alliance.

And then you'd be able to conquer other races.

Getting rid of anyone to join the alliance.

it would be impossible (or take years on end) to conquer all, or form alliances with all.

there are 500,000 stars and an estimate of 4,000,000 planets.

Before you say: Wont that take up loads of memory?, the planets are randomised when you first enter space stage, so it's not downloading the indicidual planets, just randomising the peices that the game has allready downloaded for you and then saving that.

I don't mind the European nations getting Spore two days earlier. It's only a two day wait here. Not a big deal. We've been waiting over two years already anyway. Another 48 hours won't kill us. i have seen tons of these "wow, this game is so big... this game must be like 10gb+" posts, you people must anderstand, most things in this game are done with math and algoritms, and algoritms dont take up allot of space, this is something people need to remeber... I seriusly doubt thay would go over two normal CD's. and i dont think this game has mutch cinematic-movies ether, and those are always huge space thieves.

well, the content in sims 2 was not procedully generated, nor was it compressed in the same manner, so it relly dont mather what format was used for it.

people should seriusly stop comparing games that uses so different techniques.

I dont have a DVD player in my pc, so i still hope this game will be on normal cd, and i dont see any reason why it should take up a full DVD.
