I was talking to a guy over the weekend that deals in machinery parts but specialises in silage machinery parts and he believes that the best machine out there now is the FR newholland series and this man has a Claas 840 himself. He reckons the newholland FR are giving the best value for money and are a brute of a machine to pick up grass.

desjack theres a contractor up here in county down running a 3 owner old 840 another lad from whom he bought the 840 last year now running a fr new holland not sure wat model landed into same field and the 3 owner old 840 went up the 30ft sward past her!,just yesterday there was a claas jag 900 new holland fr johndeere 7850i (3 seperate contractors) in the same field alongside johndeeres new harvester and the 7850i left them all sitting but the fella has her chipped to the max!
