  • Ive burned my dvd and everything and it plays on my computer, but when I put it into my DVD player it goes to the menu but wont let you play the movie. Can someone please help me?

  • why my dvd player keep on saying unable to read what im i doing wrong??

  • it only burn 50 mins of the movie??:S

  • DOESN'T WORK ..... i mean ... it converts to an MPG file, it burns with ''BURN'' and everything ... but then, when i insert it in my DVD player .... ''uncompatible disc'' (!)

    I burned on: MDA 120min 16x DVD+R disc

    What's wrong ? do i need blank DVDs with a lower speed ? (i.e. 8x) ???

  • Hey, every time I burn a disk with these steps when I put it into the dvd player it says, Disc Error, Playback feature may not be available on this disc. Do you know whats going on with that? Is there a certain kind of disk that I need? Thanks.

  • I have a question, I have a Macbook Air, 1 usb port, I want to save my dvd movies to my mac hard drive ,then transfer from my hard drive to my external hard drive.

When I insert the dvd to burn, I get a message insert blank dvd, but I only have

1 usb port, so my only solution is to download the movie to my computer, then copy the file to my 1 T external because my computer hard drive is only 100gb

    can you e-mail agentcain@netzero.com

  • kickass tutorial question I'm useing a mac g5 10.5.8 it won't let me burn dvd s I download from torrent sites my idvd or burn or toast won't work I'm new to mac can you help me out please

  • i updated my mac to snow and i keep getting error message

  • Great job

  • i keep trying to create dvds but when it converts the avi's to mpgs they become huge files like over 2-3gb each. What the heck is going wrong?

  • i tried it, it works but it doesn't work on dvd players on the t.v

    is that normal??

  • is there a specific format the files must be in thats compatible with the program? thanks bro

  • wonderful guide thank you

  • @phuntsok1356 Hey dumbfuck, try spelling words right and putting them into a sentance that people can actually read. asshole.

  • if my file is an avi and i need subtitles like an srt. is there anyway i can just burn the srt with the avi to be burned continuously. it's like anime. and obviously its hard to get as hard subbed when it's like not super popular and had rights bought to make an english version plus i prefer the japanese because the english/translation is so weird sometimes that it changes the story. but i need the srt to make it comprehensible. blerg.i'll just play around with burn. i'll just recycle that dvds.

  • im gonna fuyck this little boy

  • I have a question

Im trying to burn 5 hours of spongebob (for my little sis) onto a dvd so she can watch it on her tv or wherever she goes

    can this do that?

  • I tried burning an avi/mpg file and when it finished, I get a disc error. It plays on computers but not in any dvd players.

  • THANKS!!!!!!1 Having issues with IDVD....great alt!

  • Thanks for this tutorial. It was easy to follow .i love the simplicity yet efficiency of the Burn program. It made a breeze out of my project of burning DVDs for the first time. Much faster and more comprehensive than the way I was doing it . Thanks again .

  • ur a boss

  • thanks man!! prettu usefull

  • thx man

  • I love the way you say burn. BURRRRRRRRRRN!!!!! lol!

  • what if want to add subtitles to the movie file? how do I do that??

  • do you HAVE to use Dual Layer blank dvds?? or can it be the other kind?

  • HEY thank you so much!!!! i kept searching and i finally achieved it thanks to you!!!! thank you!!!!!!!

  • thanks man

  • when i try downloading and unzipping the file nothing happens, anyone know why?

  • Hey, what if I want to put multiple movies on to my DVD? Does Burn compress the files? Say I wanted to add 4 movies, could I do that? Is that what DivX is used for?

  • @michelleruthleng Well what it will do is create it all as one movie. Say if u put multiple episodes of a show onto that one dvd, it will burn it as one continual movie.

  • @Galeno2024 So it will compress the movies onto the DVD? Because i used to have ConvertXtoDVD on my PC but i switched to mac and they dont offer it, so now im trying to find a program that will let me compress 4 movies onto 1 dvd. Like if i did it with Burn will it be just 1 big movie, or will there be like an option to pick which movie i want to watch.

  • @michelleruthleng no it will make it into one big movie. If u want the options of what u which movie u want to watch, use iDvd.

  • hey it keeps closing after 1 to 2 seconds of converting... says that the program has quit unexpectedly... how do i fix this??

  • hey it keeps closing after 1 to 2 seconds of converting.. it says that burn has quit unexpectedly

  • Thank you Galeno2024. You did help me a lot...thanks you.

  • heey! well I actually bought a tv show on itunes, and i'm trying to burn it to a dvd disc because i wanna watch it on the tv :) soooo, i tried but i'm guessing because it is original it won't convert it or burn it :(

  • @scarlettdlvo Yeah I'm not sure about that. Apple is gay about their stuff and don't like it to be taken out of iTunes.

  • When I click convert, it says failed to encode one file and below that it says(the movies name) unknown format. Help?

  • @AAVGamer probly means it's not a genuine file

  • hi cutie!!!!! you are so young and smart!!!! how old are u? anyways, i tried to do this but it didn't work out: I have a cd with a movie or video on it, not original though. i tried to burn it without any sucess. i did it all the ways possible. when i tried to burn it the computer doesn't recognize the dvd blank disk. it says something like: matshita cd-rw cw-8124 what the hell is that??? i'm using new philips dvr disks.

    please help me cuttie, handsome.

    rosie

  • @moudatiramerica sounds like there might b something wrong with ur cd drive, or those cd's. Have u tried other ones?

  • @moudatiramerica The Matshita cd-rw cw-8124 is your CD drive in your computer. I don't know what model Mac you have, but it looks to me like you don't have DVD burning capabilities with that drive.

  • everything was cool man, but do u actually know any software to burn dvds with subtitles

  • when i try to op[en the file in burn, like you did (click the plus symbol find the video) it just refuses to show up, it doesnt do anything. if it helps its an avi file. please can you help me? one of the only downsides of owning a mac, is there is no nerovision, so please halp me!!

  • @sxephlI hey disregard the last comment. after a restart it worked. dont ask me why, but thanks, i hope this works man :)

  • @sxephlI hey Phil!

  • man you shitting ugly

  • what if I have multi-subtitels and want to add them to the dvd ... any ideas ???

I want to play them on dvd players

  • Nice Job, good video.

  • Hi Just having problem in my mac osx 10.4.11 is blank dvd not recognized in my mac!!After inserting it's come back automatically within few seconds.Pls help me out.thnx a mill

  • @janitume usually means u put the disc in backwards, the disc is scratch or unreadable, or ur computer cd drive is broken

  • Thanks!

  • Im looking for something where I can just burn a DVD not a file to a DVD

  • I have done every step as explaned. But I can't get it to work on my home dvd player. Can you please help. They will play on the mac.

  • thanks a lot from oak ridge tennessee.. that works pretty good.

  • i don't see the web site name in any description area.

  • How do I burn a copy of a DVD that's already on my mac to a DVD, I tryed searching. But no luck. Does it burn MOV files?

  • @Galeno2024 Yup. Went to the video tab and burned it from there. I even change the disc format setting for NTSC instead of it's default PAL setting. What movie file type do u use? Could it be that I need to have it inside a VIDEO_TS folder???

  • @krinkadink hmm. Only thing I can thing of is r u sure its a dvd and not a cd? lol

  • @krinkadink I noticed that for me if you are using a duel layered dvd it wont work with all dvd players you will need to get a regular dvdr not dvd dl. Hope i helped.

  • @jasb0y Yeah I figured it out. I use single layer memorex dvd-r dvds. All I did was make sure the default region setting was switched to NTCS not PAL (the european dvd player region). I also enabled forced 4:3 aspect ratio, since this is what most stand alone dvd players use. The picture quality was great and so was sound, only con about it is it was a little wider than usual but it still looked pretty good. A little note of advice to people, try to use standard version movies, not widescreen.

  • I bunred a movie onto a dvd using burn, works on the dvd player for the mac. Doesn't work on any of the dvd players I own, including a ps2. The movie file was in .mpg format, dragged and dropped it and it was done. Don't know what I did wrong. Help?

  • @krinkadink That's weird. U sure ur burned it as a dvd and not a data disk or something?

  • Thank you very much! I'm trying it out now!

  • so can i upload a movie from a disc then re download to another blank disc?

  • @COTDgaming yes u can

  • hey thanks for the video its help alot just one thing can i with this program copy a dvd from disk to my mac and able to play it with out the disk being inside?? if you could give an answer or link to another one of you videos that would be great thanks

  • @Bicy13 To do that, all u have to do is download an application called Handbrake. It will rip the movie off the disk, and put it onto ur computers hard drive. If u have any issues, let me know.

  • Thank you vary much you made my day regards

  • thanks for the video...

i tried using a Philips DVD+R DVD and it didnt work in my dvd player

is there a certain kind of dvd that works better ?

  • @burchill8 Hmm, weird. Try a DVD-R. If not, then either the file u burned is corrupted, the burn wasn't successful, or ur dvd player just doesn't want burnt discs.

  • @Galeno2024 eat my dick bro.

  • ok every time i burn a dvd i try to watch it on my tv and it dont work how do i fix this

  • @awesomeaang is the dvd player showing an error?

  • @Galeno2024 all it says is incorrect disk

  • @awesomeaang that means ur dvd player might not play the type of disc u burned it on

  • @Galeno2024 well i tried DVD+R and DVD-R which other one should i try

  • @awesomeaang Well those cd's are fine. I wud say it's either the movie that ur burning is corrupted somehow, or ur dvd player just won't take any kind burnt dvd. Make sure u followed the instructions exactly, and burned it as a dvd movie, and not a data disc too.

  • Can you burn like 20 videos onto one dvd and u will have a menu to play eaxc one?

  • @TheJurphy If u burn it as a data cd, u'll b able to select from a menu. But it's a menu that the dvd player makes so u can choose which data file to open. And only some dvd players can play data cds.... But if u burn it as a dvd from this program, u won't get any menu. U'll just b able to hit the skip button and go to the next chapter (video). To get a menu, I suggest u use iDVD. I have a video of how to use it and make a menu and stuff.

  • can you burn avi files?

  • @TheJurphy yes u can

  • when i use burn and i go to oburn my dvd it ejects the dvd ??

  • dvds that r not protected you can just right click

  • can you burn movies to the cd

  • it says there is a problem authorizing dvd help?

  • Hi all, I am from Australia so I use PAL make sure you go to the preference and set it up so ......Click on 'Burner' icon Click on - 'Discs' icon - 'Media with no Disc' change it to 'DVD'. Because it could be defaulted to 'No disc' if not keep trying and it should work!

  • When I get to the part "choose location to save mpg files" I hit desktop; then it says "encoding file 1 0f 1 to DVD mpg", but unlike in your video where the line starts turning blue indication something is happening, NOTHING HAPPENS.

  • @kiki6058 oh, I have no idea. lol. That's weird

  • mine too

  • Everything worked great up untill it was ready to burn. Whenever i pressed burn it would say "There was a problem authoring the DVD".... Please help me.. what do i doo????

  • @Bkzking33 it's the movie file itself. It happens sometimes. I would recommend u use another burning program

  • Why everytime I try to burn dvd it says Authoring failed?

  • @spaceace333thecat it's the movie file itself. It happens sometimes. I would recommend u use another burning program

  • @spaceace333thecat mine to

  • what kind of dvd cd are you using?

  • What kind of dvd cd are you using to burn the movie?

  • hey...everything went well up until it was time for me to burn onto a blank disc. I put in a dvd-r, but it keeps popping out!!!...PLEASE HELP this is for grad school admission!!!

  • @Liyahbeat what size is the avi file?

  • What is better to burn as, 16:9 or 4:3 resolution? And what is better to burn on to, DVD-R or DVD+R?

Btw; I'm using a AVI movie that I downloaded, but I just converted it to.mov

  • @Interlusion it doesn't really matter. most dvd players play both. and 16:s widescreen, and 4:3 is regular. so its whatever u perfer.

  • Great thanks. Do you have any idea why whenever I try to burn just a simple AVI movie on to a DVD-R, it always stop and tells me that there is no more room on my disc when actually my disc isn't even halfway used up? I'm having a really big problem with that. It doesn't matter what software I use to try and burn the AVI, it always gives me that message. Do you know why?

  • Should I burn to DVD-R or DVD+R? What's the difference? Also, what should I burn my DVD as 16:9 or 4:3? What's better for an AVI movie that I downloaded?

  • hell yeah man! thanks

  • @lovern2 no prob. lol. thanks for watchin

  • What is the name of your headset...?

  • @patinatormariotis it's a plantronics gaming headset

  • how do you compress a file that is 6.4G.B to 4.7G.B so that I can burn the file to a blank DVD

  • i have no idea

  • @ntr2ntrjr by dual layers :) hope this helps

  • Comment removed

  • Same problem with me...it keeps quitting unexpectedly. Nothing burned.

Also if it does burn, will it play on television or just in computer?

  • if u burn it as a dvd, it will play on the tv

  • True...but my problem is I could not even pass the burning stage...it always quits unexpectedly. If I opt for VCD, will it play on TV. Will it accept a CD disc instead of a DVD. One I was using Windows (now I have Mac) and Nero allowed me to burn video file into CDs. Damn I wish my iDVD is working. I don't know why it stopped accepting the vid format it used to make like .mov .mp4 .mvd .dv...I am frustrated and looking for a good free DVD burner for my vid file for Mac.

  • idk if vcd will play on the tv. I've never tried it. But i know from experience that a cd won't play in the dvd player. only if u burnt it as a divx, and had a divx dvd player..... U could get a converter, and convert ur video so u can then put it into iDVD.

  • after i convert the files and attempt t burn it keeps quitting out and saying burn quit unexpectedly, its done this with several different dvd files, any idea? corrupt burn software maybe? thanks Galeno

  • yeah that's probly it. Try a reinstall

  • can i make a copy from another dvd with this program _?

  • no u can't. But I have a video up on how to do that

  • Found out the Authoring Problem.... I had the same problem. The region is set to PAL by default after installation. Set the Region to NTSC under Burn/Preferences/Video/DVD and let it rip.

  • Nice!

  • this worked for me too .... unfortunately I live in a PAL region, so it won't play on my DVD player lol

  • aw that sucks that it wont work sorry bud.

  • It's cool, I had a look under the stairs and found another player, and it worked :D

  • I have tried both regions and continue to get the Authoring Problem when I click burn. What else should I do

  • thanks for giving a simple way to do this,.... unlike all the other people on you tube.

  • No problem dude. That's y i started making videos

  • hey i was wondering if you could help me with a different problem.... sometimes in the middle of it encoding into dvd format it just quits unexpectedly any advice???

  • That seems like a problem with the program itself. Make sure the computer isn't going to sleep while it's encoding. And if the problem persists, I would write/call Apple.

  • I was success until I went to burn and then I got a message saying "authoring failed". I was not able to complete the burn. Any suggestions? Jamborah

  • It's the mail video that's causing the fail. What would fix this is downloading a DVD maker called Toast Titanium. I say this because there is not way to fix this on Burn unfortunately. Sorry

  • HELP my said " There was a problem authoring the DVD" im trying to burn a movie to a DVD+R format

  • It's the mail video that's causing the fail. What would fix this is downloading a DVD maker called Toast Titanium. I say this because there is not way to fix this on Burn unfortunately. Sorry

  • thanks galeno it works great on my new imac!!!! can you put more videos about imac????

  • what would you like to c?

  • a fast way to copy a dvd to dvd do you know?

  • Hi, this BURN software is keep showing me error message "Authoring Failed" "There was a problem with authoring dvd"...How can I fix that? Thanks for the video

  • I think it just depends on the video. I'm not sure y it does that. I recently got toast, so when I do get that message, I can just go on Toast Titanium.

  • I did not quite get how exactly do you copy the DVD to to your hard drive, before you burn it.

  • I don't. I download them. I get them off of whatever i can.

  • Great guide on how to use burn.

but I have one question, When I use a digital copy of a DVD

it goes straight into itunes. but when I drag the movie out of itunes (after I installed it) to place it on my desktop or even into burn it won't convert it because it is a MV4.

do you know anything I can do about that so I can burn it?

  • I have no idea y it wouldn't let u export it. Maybe u can go into burn and choose a file location for the movie. U can look for the itunes folder and see if it's in there, and select it if it is.

  • how long does the burning process take for a 700 megabite movie

  • um, when it's all said and done, probly like 20 min...

  • same! paranormal activity, cant wait :D

  • How can we put the subtitles?

  • I don't think u can with this program

  • hi-I am trying to back up my original dvds that my kids keep destroying on my imac running Leopard.

I first ripped the main feature with mac the ripper.

Then I dropped the folder into BURN, chose Video/DVD format and asked it to burn the blank Staples DVD-R.

BURN them comes back with "Authoring failed".

I also tried with a Memorex DVD-RW with the same problem.

    Suggestions?

  • well u cud try and change the speed it's trying to burn, and see if that helps. If not, then you cud try and download just a dvd copying program. Like "Toast". I'm not sure exactly, but def try those things! Sorry I cudn't b of more help!

  • ok i did everything step by step so i got till after i picked a movie it was being converted to mpg and it finished i put in a blank dvd-r and it said Authoring Failed : there was a problem authoring the dvd. what should to let me burn the movie.

  • When you get the options of what DVD burner to use and the speed you want to burn at, manually select the best speed (or whichever speed you want to burn at) rather than the software itself selecting the fastest burn speed. It should work as somebody had the same problem as yourself and immediately after they did this, the DVD began to burn.

  • it wont let me burn a dvd that is saved as a .cdr.. how do i convert itt?

  • well once u try to add it to the burn list, it should ask if you wanna convert it.

  • I don't do that. I download them. Either as a video file from like limewire or something, or as a torrent from some website...

  • What program do you use to rip the dvd to your computer?? I am using Mac the ripper and the only problem I have is that the dvd's that are 7 plus gigs do rip, I can't fit them on a single burnt disk. What program do you use to shrink them down to make them fit?

  • For some reason, On my Mac, I had to take the speed down to 4X. It would not work at 8. Pretty cool that you were using Billie Jean as the sample video because I was looking to burn my first dvd ever, and the dvd was a 1992 Michael Jackson concert. Thank for the help.

  • hmm, thats wierd. i've had to do that when burning on Windows before. not on mac tho. least it worked! haha. cool! mj is da bom

  • Um, I'm not sure. never tried it

  • can you burn iso with this program?

  • It's an Imac
